  1. oh haha, I forgot to mention... I AM UNINSTALLING MY PIRATED VERSION OF CUBASE SX AS WE SPEAK! woot
  2. I get: Welp... it's kind of strange that when I import a wav it never plays back at the right speed even if the tempo of the wav is the same tempo Cubase is set to. TIME FOR MANJUUL. Edit: Oh yeah. And now that I have Cubase I now officially consider myself part of the whole group of musicians who use PRO software like VSTs and hosts and all that good terminology. or something.
  3. ? no one is arguing. actually if you simply load the wav into a sampler it can act exactly like a soundfont. I'm talking about the one you presented vs the recordings on mi7libraries.
  4. It depends what kind of music you're making. If you're making an orchestral soundtrack and you need wind... well you'd have to use something better than modulated white noise via soundfont. For electronica, the synthesized noise is good of course.
  5. concatenate? wha... eh? concatenate?... What are you talking about? The guy is using midi signals; you have a good idea though, just use a rewire host to do tempo changes. What's with the concatenating of the wavs mumbo jumbo? THAT WORD DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  6. I don't think a soundfont is the best way to add SFX to your music. Uncompressed wav format is the right way to go because with wav you can cut it up and paste into different parts of your music. For some reason though, when I cut up a wav file and paste it into another file, the wav would lose lots of quality. (I was using Creative Wave Studio) So just make sure that when you cut it up you don't lose quality. To avoid this (if it happens) cut *EVERYTHING ELSE* away and save the piece you want so you avoid transferring a piece to another file. Get what I'm sayin? Original Wav: | | | | | Original Wav: | --NOT-- Original Wav: | | | | | New Wav: | | = a piece of the wav Edit: By the way, Unkown, could you hook me up with that wind soundfont?
  7. Wha? A wind soundfont? Do you mean to say wind SFX? If yarr be willin to spend about $13 you can download some top quality SFX including all the wind you'll ever need. http://www.mi7libraries.com/main/sfx/search.jsp?type=sfx&keyword=&freeText=wind&submit=Search Note: The demos of course are low-encoded. What you buy are uncompressed wavs. They are really good, worth the money if you can't afford overused hollywood SFX. I could give you a wind sfx if you're nice and you tell me which ones you want from that website. SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE HELL IS WITH MOVIES USING THE SAME EXACT SFX OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN IN EVERY DAMN MOVIE, SOMETIMES EVEN GAMES DO THIS, IT PISSES ME OFF WHEN WILL SOMEONE CREATE SOME NEW SFX FOR THE MARKET!!! JEEZ DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /end rant
  8. Reason = nono tempo change Reason can't do tempo changes. But, you could time warp the midi. Select notes --> RIGHT CLICK in sequencer --> Change Events --> Scale Tempo --> Apply Make sure you have the notes selected correctly and only use this process in your final stage of composition, it will be impossible to correctly quantize after you scale the tempo. Create backup files just in case.
  9. Reason 3.0 bugs are being fixed as we speak, is anyone else a beta tester of 3.1?
  10. Does anyone know of free electronic drum hits? I'm sure they are around the net somewhere.
  11. Well, don't forget that you can use the WIP forum, VGMix, or this thread to get feedback on your song. Don't give up yet. I'm just not a remixer. Never was and I'm not one today; maybe none of the tunes will appeal to my style... I'll have to call it quits. I'd rather just focus on original creations.
  12. My god I'm having trouble... Indian theme melody sucks. I can't work with it! I feel like maybe doing the Vurses theme. Whatever I do I want it to be DnB and I have a really good beat going but the melodies are just not working out and I'm afraid to spend hours upon hours working on a remix that will ultimately come out sub-par.
  13. Funny how that remix utterly sucks yet 3 reviews begin with "whoa" (including the two that says "wow" but actually meant to say "whoa") LOL... seriously it sucks; I'm sorry.
  14. Pfft, easily ownaged. I'll own you with my Team India remix. KTHX. bye
  15. Calling every1 and everything a friggin noob is SO n00b-y L OL!@11XZ!!1 N00B YOO R SUK NOOB LO LOLOL!!!!L!L!!OL! sorry, i had to get that out of my system
  16. Hmm.. hype is for NOOBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... uh. Hmm, I still want to do the indian theme but I'm not sure a DnB style would be best. Anyone got better ideas? Edit: No I'm not doing dance. Edit: Uh... no. NOT TRANCE, kthx. Edit: heheh. NOT ORCHESTRAL YOU NOOB Edit: But actually I think the DnB style would work out great. It's just that I've never done DnB...
  17. You better be creating a dam good remix. USSR must be the best song of Dodgeball.
  18. Arrite everyone!!!! Check out my maad skillz! I'm actually practicing Team India's theme so I can hand-play it when I'm remixing the song. DOWNLOAD - Team India Attempt I'm still learning that last part. Edit: I just got a neat idea. What if you do the "Match Start" jingle at the beginning of every remix? We could all come up with a variation that goes along with our remix. Edit: Hey you know Team Iceland sounds like it would be really hard to remix. Edit: Dam, Team Kenya sounds hard too. Edit: Ho SWEET! Japan would make a kik a** remix.
  19. Well I won't be able to start until after May.
  20. Everyone already knows I'm working on this project[/lameassjoke] lol this gave me a laugh.
  21. This kind of news will only attract noobies. Hype is for noobs.
  22. NO ONE DOES INDIAN THEME! I am doing indian theme DnB style and that's final. And if you tell anyone that I am doing the indian theme I will come to your house and kill you! ...take off on Family Guy :\
  23. I am going to punch you in the face. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday. I will back you up if nineko is a big strong guy.
  24. USSR track should be the flippin awesomest trance or dance mix ever. I'm thinking of doing the indian theme (unless we don't get to choose what we remix or if we first have to qualify for the project?) in a DnB style. That would be kool I think. Edit: Yeah and include some nice ethnic drums for the DnB
