I'm very familiar with the OST of SMRPG but I can only barely recognize the source tune here even after listening closely. It's a nice, soothing song in its own right but I would hesitate to call this a remix...
Hate to say it but there's already so many remixes of this song (over 15 on this site alone) that I have zero interest in listening to this one. Please remix other songs from the great DKC OST! Stop beating this one to death!
I'm gonna have to disagree about the previously made complaints about the vocals. I actually liked them because of how they add to the chillness of the track. One of my fave tracks from the album
Wow, so many people contributed to the album. So many haunting tracks. The Ecco series was totally unique and this album stirs up the ole nostalgia and makes me wish for this series to make a comeback
It's so great to see one of the best remixers from the early days of this site back in action! Literally 14 of the mixes on my fave game mixes playlist are from MkV (and I'm a pretty selective person). More mixes from the mixing god are certainly welcome in my book
Why is this the first remix I've ever heard of this awesome song?! Well, thanks for being the first, it's definitely a worthy tribute. One minor gripe is that the track title made me think it was a mix of the hymn of the fayth song instead, though.
So much awesomeness packed into one song. If this is what you pump out when in a rush than I don't think my ears could handle what you produce at full capacity (lol)
Color me impressed. My fave song from the album -- chiptunes just don't get much better than this! The source tune is pretty boring but you've managed to make it something awesome and memorable. You can never go wrong with adding some Gradius to your mix either.
The quality of lighting and shadow effects in big-budget games nowadays is what does me in. Looks even better than real life if that's even possible. Also, I'm constantly stunned by how fluid and natural movement looks nowadays in most 3D games--even movements that aren't humanly possible! The limitless imagination of these game developers makes me sooo glad to be a gamer.
This is a great idea for a topic BTW
This is one of those tracks you could sneak into a "best of" playlist of regular instrumental music and people wouldn't bat an eye. It's amazing how well this track has been adjusted to make it sound like a soothing track rather than one to get you pumped up to pummel the crap out of your friends. The woodwinds and that sexy piano make this unbelievably classy. The last 10 seconds are great too -- no lame fadeout here!
This really feels like a musical journey b/c of how many times the song changes during it's running time. I also think the 3:55 section is especially memorable
