  1. Ok, I'm extending the deadline a bit more - get the remaining wavs to me by the end of next week. I'll be sending out pms tomorrow.
  2. No worries, I'm also extremely busy at the moment, got my master's thesis to defend on Wednesday, so I'll probably extend the deadline a bit more.
  3. 24bit/44.1kHz is the preferred option. But if you sent it in another bit depth/sampling rate, it should still be fine. As for headroom, 3-6dB would be nice.
  4. The songs are up, 14 entries. And the overall quality is amazing. Don't send them to streifig directly because he's going on a vacation. Btw, writing reviews gives your votes extra weight, so feel free to write some over at dod forums: http://dwellingofduels.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&p=3909#p3909
  5. When exactly are you leaving? This album needs to be done as soon as possible and I don't think I can wait for two months. If all you're waiting for is the solo, maybe you can send the stems right away to Tuberz or someone else, and they can finish the mixing.
  6. Because of some obligations, I'm gonna have to postpone the deadline a bit. New deadline: Friday, July 10th.
  7. Hah sure, I forgot to edit the first post with new wips and wavs.
  8. We know DoD artist base is mostly rock/metal, so we'll be posting some jazz artists, as well as past jazz remixes and links to articles and resources about jazz on the DoD Facebook page. The goal is to be pretty diverse by posting stuff in different jazz styles and sub-genres, so people can perhaps find something that sounds good to them and make an entry in that style. We've already kicked off with everyone's favorite japanese jazz fusion band, T-Square https://www.facebook.com/dwellingofduels/posts/950414771646702
  9. If you need some inspiration, check out the stuff in the jazz thread here: http://ocremix.org/community/topic/38145-jazz-appreciation-thread-anyone/ And one important thing: don't be afraid to collaborate There's lots of good instrumentalists who enter DoD regularly that may not make an entry on their own this month, so if you have a nice jazzy song that lacks a live instrument, just ask around a bit, and I'm sure you'll find someone to do some piano/guitar/trumpet/sax etc for you.
  10. Got some wavs and near-finished stuff! I need to start finishing my own songs too.
  11. I don't think it's limited. It's basically a Free Month without metal/djent/rock or anything heavy. Jazz is a broad term, and if we're going by that Wikipedia list, stuff like swing, bebop, blues, jazz funk and jazz fusion are all allowed. There were tons of entries in the last few months that qualify for the criteria. If you have a song idea but aren't sure if it qualifies or not, I suggest finding a song in similar style and pm-ing streifig on the DoD forums: http://dwellingofduels.net/forum/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=168
  12. So, the next month's theme on Dwelling of Duels is something really different, and it would be cool if lots of OCR people entered! Previous month's results are on the main page: http://dwellingofduels.net/
  13. http://ocremix.org/community/tags/forums/vocals-male/ http://ocremix.org/community/tags/forums/vocals-female/ http://ocremix.org/community/tags/forums/singing/ Not sure if all songs are tagged yet.
  14. I remember this from the DoD 10th anniversary, it was great back then but there's tons of improvements in this ocr version: more background vocals, meaty bass, much better mixing and mastering. If it sounded great before, now it sounds incredible!
  15. Looks like The Neverhood was ported from the PC, so I'd say no. However, if there's another game you wanna remix and if you can get me a finished track before July 1st, I'll be happy to put it on the album. This goes for everyone. Also, since Garpocalypse and SkyRiderX didn't respond to my PMs, their claims are removed. Croc is up for grabs, but there was already one FF Tactics "dibs" so I'll let you know if it's up for grabs or not.
  16. Got some more WIPs, the only ones I haven't heard from are SkyRiderX and Garpocalypse, gonna send them pms and wait one last day before I remove their claims.
  17. WIPs are coming in nicely, less and less red in that tracklist
  18. I've been mostly inspired by T-Square (and jazz fusion in general) lately. But there's tons of artists who serve as an inspiration in one way or another.
  19. Well, I just want people to avoid reaching for volume knobs, since like I said, we have tracks ranging from slow ambient tracks to metal. I think mastering it would be a nice challenge, so I'm just wondering if you're up to it
  20. I suspect you did the mastering on Zoltan's song, Brandon? I was thinking of having a single person do the mastering for the entire album to avoid having loudness levels all over the place, since the range of styles on this is pretty broad. Maybe you can master the whole thing?
