  2. I have weak stream problems, and I'm very sensitive about it D:
  3. I'm not sure I needed to know how slow or fast Will's stream is
  4. I had the PERFECT opportunity to implant a cheesy orchestra hit, and it sounds completely natural That oughta do it for today
  5. Oh. My god. Is it worth it? Yes. 3 seasons, 61 episodes. And so far, Legend of Korra is shaping up to be even better. Totally, 1000% worth it
  6. You match me in trash talking, but do you have the bite to back up your bark?! BRING IT, PUNK!!
  7. Lol PixelPanic who is this guy lol Excellent attitude though, hit me with all you got! Shame you won't be around much longer to keep talking trash > I usually wait till the last possible second to start, but I'm too damn excited EDIT: and oh god I just listened to your theme, PP. This is gonna be a fun round
  8. So maybe I missed it, but when do we need to have tracks by? I'm gonna be pretty musically busy in the coming weeks, but I can certainly find time to cook something up if I know when I need to have it by Me too, I was just waiting for my time to strike FOR RUPEES!!
  9. Fair enough, I'll roll with most of that, although my comments were aimed more at modern electronic rather than solo acoustic instruments. My recent interest in writing chiptunes actually kind of came from a frustration with my own lead and melody writing, so it started as exercises with the limited instrumentation to FORCE catchy and memorable melodies out (which I strongly recommend if anyone is feeling the same way). But I've been listening to chiptunes before I even knew there was a culture built around it (I'm so hip, right? Fucking LOVE Alberto Gonzalez's Gameboy work), looking up youtube clips of music from my favorite Gameboy games etc., and it was pretty easy to let myself be absorbed by the sound and turn it into a way of writing that I ultimately love. The process and the end product are both way, way too much fun
  10. Dude, just... just use this, if epic chiptunes are what you're looking for I can holler at Ben and halc, I'm sure they'd be stoked to have their music used. And this is seriously one of my favorites of theirs, ever, and it's even a Smash Brothers mix, technically
  11. I think chiptunes have been made popular recently because the limitations force the composer to pump more content into the music without a lot of the conventions of modern electronic music. A lot of techniques of modern music could be labeled as a novelty every bit as much as any sort of chip music. Chiptunes just tend to be more melodic in nature than a lot of modern styles, which is something that I personally enjoy very much when listening to AND writing music And a certain "sound," as you mentioned, kind of defines a genre, doesn't it..?
  12. You heard the man.... Can it be album tiemz, plox? Seriously though, someone PM me if this happens
  13. Haha, sounds like great minds think alike
  14. Uhhhhhh... I don't think you can do that (sell them) without licenses and stuff, since they're game arrangements...
  15. YES!! Everyone should quit being all "TAKE MY REMIXES, TAKE MY REMIXES" *cough*protorockzovian*cough* and promote a community album of *brand new* material instead. It'd be fun and totally badass On a different note, "ProtoRockZovian" sounds like a cool collaboration name..
  16. Yay, big drums are big, and cool glitches are cool. At 2:10, I recommend putting another synth with the melody, to make it more recognizable, while keeping that odd wonky feel to it. The drums are really mucking things up right now, are you compressing your snare* and BD? and how are things EQ'd? Also, make sure things aren't clipping (or at least not clipping a lot) without the limiter; that extra gain + a cutoff at 0 dB can cause a lot of pumping like you're getting in the meaty section, and that waveform is lookin pretty thick *Snare is more important to clean than the BD atm pH
  17. THREE ENTRIES?! Here I come, Gestahl Empire, Locke's Theme, and Phantom Train :D EDIT: Since no one's picking Johnny C. Bad, I'll switch out Phantom Train and give some unclaimed ones some lovin'
  18. Thanks for the votes of confidence y'all I'm as interested to see what I can come up with as you are haha. I have no idea what I'm gonna do, nor have I been listening to my source much (even though I played Sonic 2 quite a bit), but that's half the fun, right?! ZOMFG EXCITED TO START
  19. Unless he's going up against me, then he starts early out of fear
  20. Battle royale would really be to the benefit of Source Whores; use any (chosen) themes you want! WHOEVER MAKES THE MOST AWESOME MIXES WINS
