So, I love writing temple-y sexy jams, and sitar fits right into that insrumentation. I've tried Kontakt's factory sitar sample, and it's ok... but doesn't sound great. I'm not in a position to buy IS's Sitar Nation sample library (which sounds absolutely fantastic, just don't have any extra money laying around atm ), and I got to wondering if anyone around here actually plays. It's a super badass instrument, just really uncommon, and I'd love to get some live playing if possible. So... sitar players?

Damn Finger, your mix is groovy as shit. Yes, I'm at work Yes, I can get on OCR at work EDIT: Holy wow everyone, AMAZING mixes this round. Proud to be a lzrindsansandrd OH, also, this mix marks the end of my first year of making music seriously (as in, using something other than Finale ) -

Gonna go ahead and give some exposition for my piece this round before I go back to bed and then to work First of all, it was heavily, HEAVILY influenced by Kitcaliber's album D.FREQ.CRUSH, especially Pseudotriton (hence the name). I've wanted to put a song together in that style ever since I heard the album, so forgive me for staying rather close to their structure, but I wanted to gain some footing in a relatively new style of writing. Still just can't seem to get away from those damn 8 bit waveforms though Made a bunch of processing/productional breakthroughs, and I'm really happy with how things turned out. Hopefully y'all guys dig it, and I'm super glad Main Finger didn't drop so we can have ourselves a showdown Special thanks to Xarn, MY SECRET WEAPON! Now back to sleep -

Pinky Roader wants a prog makeover too EDIT: Throw me down for Pinky Roader, I'll try to have a WIP by the end of the week You should try to get Mazedude for Golden Silver ;D -

All the dropouts will be pitted against each other, since there's probably enough for a whole compo -
This is great man! Reminds me of PSX music <3 What sound libraries are you using? EDIT: The snare and some of the string work don't exactly sound human, but that's one of the selling points for me, since it sounds SO much like something straight out of Final Fantasy Tactics or something. LOVE that synth entrance (hello, Jazz Jackrabbit)

D: the drama of this sad face was NOT lost to 10char -
Ah man, default FL guitars? Haha. Sequencing guitar is... fucking hard, man. There's WAY too much humanization involved with guitars, I usually just stay away from sequencing them altogether. That being said, there's a bunch of guitarists here on OCR that I'm sure would be willing to help if you develop the idea a little more. Love those bitcrushed basses dude

Omg I'd LOVE to make a progressive track out of Bravoo Man; I've JUST started listening to it, haven't even hit any of the other tracks, but I've been needing to get back into complex time sig's, and this source sounds like just the thing to do it -

You should use box.com, soundcloud, or tindeck to host your music so people don't have to download to listen; I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to downloading, and I know a lot of other people are too. Haven't even listened yet haha, gimme a minute EDIT: k listened. Did you record this? If you're still learning how to play an instrument, it might be beneficial to start off with sequencing stuff in the program rather than going straight to recording something, especially if you're still learning how to put the backing parts with the melody. There's not a whole lot here for me to crit haha, so I guess that about wraps it up for now -

Ben and I saw him at MAG... Ben waved, and Brent gave him a SUPER pissed off look Anyway, YouTube, nooooooooooo D: Youtube audio quality is absolute trash. I'm willing to attribute quite a bit of the mud to the fact that YouTube is your host. Use Tindeck, SoundCloud, Box... really, anything except YT haha And echoing everything Rozo said. Although that slap bass sample reminds me of 16 bit SNES music, it might be cool to add in some SNES chip elements pH -

Haha, mine's not exactly in top shape... frequent display driver crashes plague me. Also, it fell off a futon last summer with the power cord still in, jamming the charge connector inside my computer. If I reconnect the face plate, the plug-in still sinks inside, so I have to leave the whole thing loose so I can lift up the corner and fish it out. Not to mention my battery has been fucked for about 7 or 8 months, so I HAVE to have it plugged in AT ALL TIMES, or else it dies in about 2 minutes. But I suppose there are worse situations -
