My entry has been sent. I put my remix together in 2 days, so who knows how I'll do. Definitely better than the first FF6 competition. Hopefully all those Remixing the Stars episodes payed off!
-
I'm not really surprised at being in last, I was also working on a remix for the FL Studio Remix Gauntlet. Even so, all I really care about is the experience. Anyway, I definitely enjoyed everyone's work!
-
It turns I'm managing to make something to submit after all.
-
Yea, it's fine. I won't be getting to work on the uploads/votes til this evening anyways.
Thanks guys for your well-wishes. I'm feeling a lot better now, though still out of sorts.
Thanks, and yeah, glad to hear you're feeling better.
-
I'm just competitioned out, between the FL Gauntlet and Remixing with the Stars, the thought of making another remix so soon is just bleh. I don't think I'll end up with anything for this, unless I somehow get the motivation.
-
I forgot the deadline was at 2 pm instead of 10, can I still submit? I was finished before the deadline. I'm sure nobody minds considering the deadline was changed twice.

This thread is dead. Trash talk revival:
You're guys remix are bad.
I tried so hard to make my remix suck, but it just didn't work out. I'll just have to settle for the best remix ever.
well, it's not actually the best ever

This was the second video displayed when I searched for Ice Cap Zone remix. It's been out for six years without crediting the original and people are asking whether they can use it in their work.
Link to original:
The YouTube user was last active 2 weeks ago, maybe he can be gently persuaded to credit the original? I commented on the video saying McVaffe was the original author, and that it was posted here in 2001. Maybe that'll be enough?
-
Cool idea, I'm down with this. I've never actually made an entire original track, but this compo would give me the motivation.
-
Alright, mine is in. Looking forward to hearing what people came up with!
-
Okay... no one wins by default... but unless I get another entry in the next 3 1/2 hours, it's just going to be one-on-one.
Mine will be in soon.
-
Alright, cool. Just wanted to make sure before going crazy.

Are we allowed to use automation clips? The feature where you right click on a knob and select "create automation clip"? It's my understanding that anything below the Producer edition does not have the automation clip feature.
-
Was the voting deadline still tonight? I thought the voting was pushed back as well.
-
Kirby, wtf... your music is too good. Like, it makes me sick to my stomach how jealous I am of your tunesmithing. Amazing track last round.
Tell me about it.
-
What the... You played through it with the keyboard? Bravo, sir, bravo.
That's how pros play. Seriously though, to me the keyboard is more accurate for the type of movement in Meat Boy.

More FF6? Count me in!
I should be able to find time to put something (or maybe multiple somethings!) together before the 28th.

To be honest, I think the album deserves better. Steiner's Theme is iconic, and my remix doesn't really do it justice. I look forward to hearing the remix that does make it onto the album!
Fair enough.
-
Huh, he withdraws the song with no explanation and posts it here anyway. Alrighty then, well, if we still end up getting a Steiner remix, I'll be satisfied.
-
eh, its ok. Kinda glad that someone else will be redoing it for the ff9 project tbh.
Good point. It just seems strange to withdraw the song from the album with no explanation, only to post it on OCR anyway, originally in the album thread no less. But hey, if it means we get to hear another good Steiner remix, all the better.
-
As I said before, this sounds great! Nice work!
So, um, why did you remove this from the album?
-
Here's the removed Steiner remix if anyone wants to hear it: [link redacted]
Why was this removed? It sounds great to me, well, at least I get to listen to it whenever I want.
-
Yeah, it's definitely worth it to get a Sunday only pass. I had fun last year, and I'll have fun this year!
-
From my perspective, I'd say it's ready for mod review.

I recommend trying out FL Studio, there's a demo you can download. If you end up liking it, there are a couple editions you can pick up on your budget.
