I think those rules are fair. I like the idea of a randomized track order and anonymized tracks, it definitely prevents a bias.

I submitted earlier, but it didn't go through. I sent it again, cc'd to aaversa@gmail.com.

Check out the tags section of the forums. I'm not sure if every remix is tagged, but a lot of them are.

Submitted. And now we wait.

I like what you got going here.
First off, the whole song is repetitive and gets a little bland, especially the drums. The mix could use some more variety. I only noticed one change in the drums, when you started the second section. The hi hat sample becomes grating and distracting after a bit. I also feel like the kick could use some more punch to it. If you plan to submit this at some point in time, I think the mix could use more of the source.
I hope this helps, keep up the good work!

I love the style!
I think it's great as is, really unique. It sounds a bit repetitive, but honestly I don't think that hurts the song, especially given the style.

Spore has a few consistent 'songs' which could be arranged. Such as in the
, most of the editors in the game seem to have consistent music. So yeah, case-by-case seems like a good way to look at it. -
I definitely plan to remix something from the Crisis Core soundtrack soon. After finishing my remix for zircon's FF6 competition. I know someone who can play guitar, I might ask him to play a part.

Voted for everything in the Sonic Bracket, really great tracks everyone!
Looking forward to the Robotnik Bracket!

Happy b-day RexAsaurous!
Nice cake choice, Mirby. Are you actually making these cakes or do you find pictures of them?

It's no problem at all. Everyone makes mistakes.
As of now, I'm preparing myself. I guess I'm a little flustered, really. I've been putting it off.. I don't think I can 'compete' with some of the other artists here. I guess that's kind of holding me back right now. I suppose none of you have a dose of self-confidence I could have?
Well, you can't compete if you don't enter!
It's all about the experience for me, whether I win or lose, I'll still grow as a musician.

Happy birthday!

You can always ask a question like that on the FL Studio forum. I had asked that exact question a couple of months ago and received the answer in five minutes from a "power user." They are very nice and helpful over there.
I could have, but I honestly didn't have much of an issue moving patterns manually, not enough to ask. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks Kristina! So that's why my method only worked at seemingly random times, my cursor just happened to be in the correct spot. Plus, using the mouse wheel is much easier than pushing control, shift, up/down. I never would have thought to put my cursor in that specific area.

1. How do you easily reorganize patters in FL 10? I am looking at the list in the F8 menu on the left, and I see how you can "move up" or "move down" individually, manually, but is there an easier way? Also the list in the F6 menu, but it's about the same.
I've been wondering the same thing. The keyboard shortcut shown in the F6 menu control+shift+up only selects a different pattern. I tried it in the browser, F8, and I got it to move the pattern, but not always. It only seems to work occasionally. Maybe you'll have better luck.
I also looked in the help files, and searched on Google, but couldn't find another way. You might get better results asking on the Image-Line forums.

I'm still a beginner.
My biggest issue right now is writing transitions. I make some interesting arrangements, but I have a hard time connecting the parts together.
-
I was just not aware of that first because your initial advice was more vague. So then my conclusion was correct. Killing frequencies for different parts should be my next step.
Yeah, sorry I wasn't clear. I'm working on my EQ skills, you seem to be doing a better job than I. Good work so far.
-
Glad everyone generally enjoys it so far. Some good points here, though now I also have to choose between some contradicting ones. Skrypnyk says EQ and mix it to be quieter, Cash saysand presence. Wowsers!
Those points aren't contradicting. EQ isn't really about volume, but more about getting everything to fit in it's place. I said more power, not volume. Making it louder won't necessarily do that, if the parts are clashing. EQ will make the mix feel more powerful, since the parts won't be conflicting and making things muddy.
-
Very nice work, keep it up!
My main issue is that it doesn't seem as powerful as it could be, especially for dubstep. I feel like your drums could be stronger, more punch, the volume seems okay. I think this track could benefit from a bass with more wobble, and also more power. I feel like the whole song doesn't have enough presence.
-
Yeah, not real sounding at all. Vibrato is wacky, sounds really odd. Might sound better in a song, as SnappleMan said.

Awesome news, Emu! It'll be worth the wait!

It was available for free on the NS site for a little while.
Yeah, I had heard there was a free one, but I was never able to find it.
-
Does anybody have the full ns7 (sf2) drum kit, or know where I can find it? I've had the ns7 lite kit for years now and if my memory serves me, there was the full kit out there on the webz at one time.
This site has acquired the copyright for the ns7 kit, linked from Natural Studio.

The guy asked for good drum samples/vst, some with rock, but not exclusively rock. And I agree drum machines are not good for rock, as I said before.

That's a good idea, giving people the choice of whether or not to look at their ranking. I personally want to see my ranking. If I rank at the bottom, it will motivate me to do better. If I rank near the top, that would be a nice confidence boost.
