  1. I was already made aware of it a while ago, I just couldn't say anything.

But since now it's public knowledge, guess I can? XD.

Our projects are different so we're still good. Theirs exclusively focuses on the first game (which is why I was adamantly opposed to the suggestion that this project only be about the first game) while ours is more about the series as a whole.

Also theirs is almost completely done IIRC. And our release date isn't final either, it's just there for the sake of being there. Our release date is determined by how many people join and how quickly they join.

Cool, that being the case, I'd like to claim Hail Fire Peaks. Do you want me to send you a PM?

  2. I'm not sure how the recent announcement that a private Banjo-Kazooie project has been in the works, will affect this project. Are people still interested in working on this? The recent announcement could possibly push this project past the intended release. I was planning on claiming a track, but now I don't know.

EDIT: Actually, I don't know if the release date of this project will be changed. June 2013 is a while away, I guess it depends on when the other album is released. I'll still work on this project if others will.

  3. This is definitely a necessary policy. It's not fair to keep the existence of any project a secret, which then leads to duplicates. Nobody likes that, especially the people who get involved with a project, only to discover it has already been done.

I have a question, where does this leave the unofficial FF6 and Banjo-Kazooie projects? Will they be allowed to continue, or is that up to the directors to discuss with each other?

EDIT: Not that I have a problem with private/closed projects.

  4. Thank you OCR! In 2011, I joined the site after being a lurker for sometime. I started to work on making a remix, it took me four months, starting in September, of test projects to finally start my first remix, which will be in the workshop forum soon. I also managed to make seven friends in about four months, not bad for a new guy.

2011 was a great year for posted remixes and albums. Mega Man 9, Pokemon, Wild Arms, just to name a few. I can't wait to see what 2012 brings!

EDIT: I've been on the forums of other websites, and none have been as civil and helpful as OC Remix. Thanks everyone!

  5. Hey, I'm fairly new at FL as well however I have found tutorials on YouTube from

"dngmusic" on mixing and mastering, and from "Agniveshbaghel" on side chaining and stuff like that. And yeah have fun and practice.

Best of luck and I look forward to hearing one of your tracks soon.

Thanks, I'll check those out at some point.

  6. My brother and I accidentally got each other the same game, Dark Souls for PS3. I'll be returning the one I bought and getting him something else. I got a couple shirts, a calender, a couple Newegg gift cards, a book, and a few other little things. And a Barnes and Noble gift card from my OCR Secret Santa.

Oh and of course the samples from the FF9 project. Thanks Fishy!

Merry Christmas and such to everyone.

  7. Update: Gifts sent out yesterday!

Gifts will be mailed out Monday for sure, they should arrive in time for Christmas. I hope my recipient likes them!

I'm happy with my gift, I'll definitely do this again next year. If anyone is interested, I got a Barnes and Noble gift card and a couple of bars of chocolate. One 70% dark, my favorite :), the other milk.
