    So I thought this was going to be about turning the mascot generator into a quiz mini-game. Which I think would actually be a cute little easter egg for the site, as well as a fun and hopefully-not-too-high-effort coding project.

    Add me to the list of people rediscovering SCB because of this thread. I'm almost certain I've actually listened to it before, but it must have not made an impression on me initially for some reason. Anyway it's great, so thanks!

    That said, I think Voices of the Lifestream still stands out to me, partially because of the sentimental value, but mostly the overall scope and execution...the whole thing was just on a scale practically unheard of for a fan effort back then. Andy truly deserves massive props in that regard. Although I have to admit I'm still a tiny bit sad "Musica Materia" lost the name contest. ?

    Accurate sheet music for video games sounds like it would be a tremendous resource for ReMixers, and I wholeheartedly support this. It might be a good idea to collaborate with VGMusic.com on this effort. The accuracy is a little hit and miss with their MIDIs, but it could be a good place to start. Their webmaster Powerlord is member of the OCR forums and would be a great resource. 

     

    I'm equally, if not more, interested in sheet music for ReMixes. Transcribing my arrangements has been something I keep intending to do, but I just never seem to get the time. I do get requests occasionally though and I always feel bad that I have nothing except MIDIs to offer. So I'd love to see an official OCR compilation happen, and although I don't have the time to contribute on the labor side, I'd definitely pitch in some funds to compensate people for their time and, if financially and legally feasible, back a Kickstarter for a physical book. :D

    This point wasn't as general as simply criticizing overall rigidity. It was specifically pointing out the inherent conflict in simultaneously arguing for equal treatment of women in games while insisting on special consideration of violence against women in games as being disproportionately problematic.

    I think a counterargument can be made... I just think it would usually be a weak/crappy one. But shit, let ME try - in earnest:

    There you go; if this thread didn't jump the shark dozens of pages ago, this has gotta do it, because I just argued against myself...

    And kudos for that. I think your "steel man" argument hit most of the points I was about to bring up; basically, it's not just the use of violence against women, as no one is breaking out the pitchforks when Mario hits Peach in Smash Bros...it's also the way in and extent to which it is used.
