Well I don't know what you're looking for in terms of features, but GamingForce has a fairly decent-looking "ChocoJournal" system, and also uses vB. Maybe ask them about details regarding implementation.

As for an example of a cover done right, I've always been a fan of falkon2's rendition of Emerald Hill Zone. There's some Green Hill Zone at the end, but it cuts off because he never finished it. You might also recognize him as the same person who brought us "One-Winged Hutt". Although probably not, because OLRemix still hasn't fixed the credits.

Edit: Right. The script was a test run so he could supposedly use it for his own songs at some point. Sam's mistake was not letting anybody know about this even though he knew about it, which is unfortunate. His priorities and sense of ethics could definitely use some work, but he's still not the monster some people have made him out to be.
