Hey guys! So I'm working on a new Pokémon track for a fan album to be released soon. The Bit Rate quality on this song is MUCH lower than the album version with purposeful clipping, so if you want a high quality AMAZING sounding song (Plus you're not a tight arse) BUY THE ALBUM WHEN IT IS RELEASED AND SUPPORT THE CHARITY. Dime, in regards to the mix I personally hate this compared to some of my recent work haha. I've got a lot more work in the pipeline however so keep a listen out. Thanks bro! Keeping the gear simple really, Agilive Silverburt 7 string running through a Pod HD 500. Goes driect to my computer and I add all the Post EQ and such there. In regards to vocals, there IS! I have 2 screamers/singers I'm working with and vocals are in the process. I know how some people prefer instrumentals however so I'll be releasing the instrumentals along with the vocals

I like Pirates and Crabs. Oh sorry, was you expecting a story? This one time, at band camp... I actually can't properly remember. I think I picked it up when I was watching Pirates of the Carribean and the little pebble crabs started walking around. Then I just put 2 and 2 together.

The rattle will be the actual snares that have been pulled through via the compression. To compensate, have your natural snare sound louder than your compressed snare, and lower the release time on your compressor with a faster attack. What this will accomplish is a forced snap from the compressed snare, but will remove the rattling tail that follows afterwards. At least I think this is the problem you're describing haha

This all over. Try to avoid boosting EQ as you will clip your mix, and avoid changing your mix levels and putting them all over the place as you can completely void your mix. Surgical EQ will remove the offending frequencies in the low end to allow your snare some punch to pull through, and if it requires a bit more snap to put it on top of everything else, then a tad boost between the 1.5-2khz range can really add some emphasis. If you really must boost, then lower the level of your snare a tad to keep volume levels the same.

To the haters, I really couldn't care less. Sonic was the first game I've played and the fact I still play it now 18 years later, on my actual Megadrive is the reason I got it. It made me happy through my childhood and still makes me happy now Sure it's the pose from sonic 06, one of the most terrible games, but it's also one of the sharpest looking poses that exist for sonic which is perfect for the design I want. In regards to the sleeve itself, it runs through Sonic 1/2/3. Sonic 1 and green hill zone on the bottom third, metal sonic (Or metallix for the old school comic fans) in death egg zone around the middle and elbow of my arm with the death egg too, into the top third which is in fact evil super sonic with all the emeralds surrounding him in doomsday zone with robotnik and his ship. Mobius (Or earth) will be on my shoulder. As I said, I don't care about haters. It's my arm, figured I'd share it with a community that would actually like this kinda thing. Everybody has their own personal taste, and this is fin for me To everyone who liked it, thanks very much, I'll share more as it progresses!

Absolutely fricken love the melody! However, couple things that are bumming me out at the moment. Take for example 0:49, the lead synth pulls through fairly sharp and feels overpowering. Possibly tone down the volume a tad at this point? As said above, the lead synth sounds fairly sharp. Sounds great but it does hurt the ears a tad. Bass also feels like it's lacking a bit in the mix. The pump is there from the kick, but the bass feels like it's not following behind. Kinda tough to explain. Either way, great work and I'm looking forward to the final mix!
