  1. Well, this is certainly odd - someone submitted my remix for me. (: I didn't want to submit this cause I wasn't entirely satisfied with it, but I'll take someone submitting it on my behalf as a vote of confidence. (: Anyway, here's the email: i did not make this one, but ORKYBASH did. it's " you are not alone" from ff9. i don't know if you already have it or not. it's at the bottom of the page enjoy! Not gonna vote on this one, unless a tiebreaker is needed.
  2. Hmmm, nice work. Not much to say about this one, other than that it's definately OC quality.
  3. hmmm... for a song that gets remixed almost as much as Zeal, I'd say this is a pretty good interperetation. I like the intro the best, and would be happy to see a version of TFAT just done like that, but it's not bad when it bursts into distorted guitars either. My main problem here is that the lead guitar sounds just a tad out of tune, which is a little distracting. With a little work, and maybe a tad more energy, this could become one of those mixes that just makes you want to get up and shout "OOOHHHHYEEEAHHHH!!!" no matter how crappy your day's been. But I digress, this definately gets a Yes from me.
  4. Takes a little too long to develop. The rest of it isn't bad by any means, though it feels just a tad empty at times. Anyway, this isn't my favorite remix, but I do like it. So I'm tempted to vote Yes, but... Next time read the submission guidelines, as it clearly says mixes can't be over 6 megs. I voted down one remix already because of this, but this time I'm gonna let it go. Why? I voted down the other one because it was clear to me that bitrate reduction was gonna get it under the limit unless it was really drastic. But just as an experiment, I converted this into a 128 kbit MP3, which reduced the filesize to 5.56 mb - well under the limit, while still retaining a reasonable (though not great) level of quality. So my vote is Yes, as long as the remixer is willing to let the quality be cut.
  5. Very high quality mix. Maybe a little repetative in the beginning, but that doesn't bug me all that buch with this mix. The one major thing I would suggest is to try to get some vibrato on the sax, since that makes it sound much more natural. But overall, this definately deserves a yes.
  6. Wow, the beginning sets up some great ambience, but then once the strings come in, it sounds as far from ambient as possible, which really confuses the listener. Also, I found that this remix didn't provide a whole lot of variation from the original. And, like Joe said, it really doesn't go anywhere. I'd really like to be able to say yes on this one so we can get a Terranigma mix up, and while technically it may pass, I don't think there's nearly enough creativity here to warrent a yes.
  7. Oh man, I'm really torn on this one. It does sound a little empty, and I would LOVE to hear some deep reverb on the bell lead. but I also think there's enough here to make it a viable OC remix... OK, the fade-out did it for me. IMHO, if you're going to have a relatively unimpressive somg, do more with the ending than just fade out! Overall, I have to say no, but just barely. It's not quite there yet, and I think it has the potential to be loads better without that much extra work. Make it a little fuller, add some reverb, maybe do more with the ending, and it's there.
  8. Very cool mix here. Like Pizza said, the theme isn't my favorite, but it's arranged well and holds my interest. I don't like how the ending quickly fades out - I think it would be much more effective to hold our the guitar for another meassure or to, then cut it out. Or was that Winamp being retarded? If so, ignore that comment... Anyway, the quality could use some improving here, and it definately doesn't warrent that high of a bitrate, though the bitracte can be easily reduced. As for the quality, It doesn't hutr the mix all that much, and we've let low quality recordings of live mixes through before "like SMB Italian Plunber). So basically, I see no reason to say No on this one. Though, as others have pointed out, if we can get a high quality version of this, it would be great.
  9. I tired, but got a "Permission Denied."
  10. I found the real address on vgmix and updated the link in this message. Should work fine now.
  11. I dunno... something about this mix really doesn't sound right. The horns, for one, are possibly the worst brass sample's I've heard. And though I don't think that's enough to kill the song on its own, the execution of the peice as a whole isn't quite there.
  12. One tip: when sequencing guitar chords, try offsetting the the notes a little to simulate a strum. I think that would make the guitars sound a bit less 'hard', if you know what I'm saying. Also, the mix could have used a slightly deeper reverb, especially in the beginning part. But despite those, I thought this was a well done mix. Very relaxing.
  13. Well, there ARE a lot of Zeal mixes already, but it could be much worse *coughpreludecough*... But anyway, I'm gonna have to vote Yes on this one. I don't really know what to highlight as good here, since it's all very well excecuted - I guess my favorite part would be the extremely good synth lines. The only problem I have with this mix is that the drums are pretty overpowering, even to the extent that they distract from the rest of the remix. But that's only one strike against an otherwise great remix
  14. I'm really sorry to say this, but this mix is a clear violation of the submission guidelines. Shame, too, cause i's obvious the artist spent a lot of time on this one, and came up with one hell of a mix. The only thing I think needs work here are the at times jarring transitions. But other than that, a very high quality mix. It's a shame that the artist didn't realize it couldn't get posted here. My vote is no, simply because OC cannot handle a file that's almost twice as big as the supposed upper limit. I would suggest either submitting this to VGMix.com, since I think it would fit under there, or submit individual sections as separate submissions, since I think any song remixed here is good enough to stand on its own.
  15. Well, to be honest, I can't say I enjoyed this remix simply because it failed utterly to hold my interest. Intro is entirely too long, and once the melody comes in, it's way to repetative (though not as much as it could be). I'd love to see some more intricate drum work, as this song really lends itsself to a much stronger jungle interperetation than the remixer has given it. Overall, borderline mix, but I'm gonna have to vote no (where's the no option, anyway?) just because of the lack of interest,
  16. I got this mix off of VGmix long before I heard it here. And I've loved it to death since I've gotten it. The only criticism I have is that the samples could use a little work. But the arrangement here is top notch. All in all, a resounding "yes" from over here!
  17. Sounds pretty good to me. Very well developed - adds enough each time through the melody to keep it interesting. The only complaints I have are the clap is pretty dry, but it doesn't detract from the mix as much as it could. And I could have done without the repetitive voice samples. Once or twice is good, but it gets annoying if its repeated too much. But a nice mix overall, well deserving of a yes.
  18. Sounds a little empty. If I could do one thing to improve the mix, it would be to add more layers. The ending needs a lot of work also - I'm getting pretty frustrated with cutoff endings! High point for me would be the precussion, which was used a lot more creatively than most mixes and realy fits the style well. Overall this is catchy and, though it has some problems, squeezes by with a yes from me.
  19. Letsee... piano intro goes on for too long, especially considering how that's not too great a piano sound. Freaky stuff going on with the piano after the drums come in. Some wrong notes, but I'm honestly not sure if that was intentional or not - but if your goal was to freak the listener out then you've succeeded (meant in a good way, honest!) and the wrong notes work. Good variation on the drum track, though it maybe could have used a tad more. Anyway, not exactly my cup of tea, but I think you've pulled this off well enough for me to be able to vote 'yes'.
  20. Not much to say about this mix, other than I'd vote 'yes' in a heartbeat. Though not one of my favorites, everything is executed very smoothly (gotta love the little guitar sounds in the background). If I had to give criticism, I would say that it didn't really hold my interest around the middle of it, but the beginning and the end were fine. Overall, quality stuff.
  21. I think it's more of a housekeeping thing, so we know which remixes have already been voted on.
  22. Well developed remix, but the wrong chords really bug me. I know To Zanarkand has some tricky harmonies, since I've tried remixing it before, but I would still suggest going over this carefully and working them out. It would make your mix 500% better. But for now, no.
  23. Not the best mix I've heard, but there's not much to complain about, either. Could have been developed a bit more, as Joe said. But as it is, I think this works. *Votes yes*
  24. There's a 128 kbit version on... that other site. It's well below the filesize limit.
  25. Remixed By: FFmusic Dj. Game: Final Fantasy 7 Track: Corel Prison Original Composer: Nobuo Uematsu My vote is yes, BTW. Besides the fact that the title is a bit misleading, I really can't find much to criticize here. All the elements fit well, and the arranging is pretty good. Especially nice job blending original stuff into the corel prison theme.
