I think the thing OC ReMix didn't understand before this and needs to remember for the future is that every single person liking OCR on facebook right now looks like one of the kids from Children of the Corn

If Notch tweeted it, OCR would hit 30k in about 10 minutes. The Capcom push was good. But another push of that nature will be needed!

I had overheard that it has been ready to release for like a week. People are getting mixed signals because they're probably not supposed to be receiving specific signals. *_* That's Sigma from the MMX series

At this point I can say the increase is about 20 per hour, give or take a handful. Maybe you guys could post one early mix from MR then, it'd help.

Do the mixes and the rights to them belong to Capcom or do the artists maintain some rights to the music?

I'm not bothered by the wait or the facebook liking at all. I'm really just starting to get kinda bothered by the staff's disrespect for the users.

The more and more I think about it, this whole "Like on Facebook" thing just screams of Opeth. You make 9 brilliant and amazing albums, then you make Heritage which completely turns off your core fanbase, the people who followed you since Orchid, in an attempt to gain attention from the hipster demographic. I am sorry, I uploaded this a little early because I was expecting the album to drop today, later found out about the Sigma thing... didn't announce the song on facebook or anything until I found out from this post from Baha that he had discovered it on the Youtubes. (subscribed maybe? that's cool ) Sadly I fear the people only care about my youtube for the skyrim remixes and this won't help in any way gain additional likes for the facebook. hehe But I hope y'all like the video

This could have been handled better... - Link to the facebook with an annotation on the trailer - Put the image on http://maverick.ocremix.org/ - Possibly post a mix from the album with an explanation, include it on youtube I know how COMPLETELY uninterested and unengaged an audience can be unless something is Skyrim and this response was somewhat predictable but there's also more that can be done (like on the above 3-point list) to turn this around. As it stands I think the facebook page gained somewhere around 150 likes in a day. Someone should start keeping track instead of just guessing. Anyway, it'll take a hell of a while for it to happen at this rate but we've waited this long, I don't guess another couple weeks will hurt too much. Except that it'll probably delay the next album. And the next album would blow peoples' MINDS!

This is a bit off topic but is there a limit to the number of videos you can upload to Facebook? Might not hurt to start putting the vids on there too.

The remixes are posted to youtube, there's probably a more direct way to get fans on Youtube than going through facebook Youtube's a pretty powerful and easy to use tool Facebook is really just a glorified funnel, half the time I don't even see the OCR updates on my feed unless nothing else is going on.. I usually see it because friends like and comment on it rather than actually just seeing the original post. If you have any good advice of how we can help with this Facebook campaign, please share... I don't think I can get anyone on my friend list to do it, mainly because all of my friends are already from OCR, or elderly family who think I need to quit wasting my life on video games. o.O

I agree that I am not fond of the idea of this, and I expressed a bit of skepticism earlier about it in PM... I didn't think that there would be 3,000 spare people to come around and hit "Like", not to mention all of us on or around OCR have already liked it. Alright, so I saw the number has gone up by about... what.. 50 people? I gotta be honest I forgot how many it started with, but I knew it needed some odd 2800 people and now it needs 2700 some odd people... That's a long way to go and it could take weeks. Something that might help -- upload a Youtube video about this, nothing major that will take hours to make. Put an annotation link on it to the facebook page and explain about garnering likes. But this was extremely ambitious considering some remixes don't even get 2,000 views depending on the popularity of the game. Average likes on a remix itself evens out to around 100. Let's check Samba Primata for example: 1,913 views 125 total votes I always sound like a wet blanket, that's just how I roll I guess and I don't mean to bring anyone down with any of my observations etc. Ultimately I just like to see my music get released, whether that is a song I have on this album, an album I have coming up next that is affected by a month waiting for likes, or even songs of my friends that will be affected. I know that's an overly dramatic way to look at this but eh. NAO MAO< I CAN'T HELP how I feel Anyway, in conclusion, I'd like it again if I could but I've already liked it max times. I hope you manage to find the 2700 people you need before things get too out of hand. There's no shame in releasing it before hitting 27k or without ever hitting 27k.

This thread is starting to get uncomfortable for me, cause I do have a solo piano mix passed that doesn't even remotely stand up to the quality of Shnabubula or Danimal's stuff, chiptune or no Don't get me wrong I love mah solo piano song but if it deserves to be on the site, Espergirl does so much more.. but I guess if they're not really willing to change the rule then it'll just be an unfair system for now, hopefully not forever.

Agreed. I was looking forward to the album today, but oh well. There's always The Wettening, coming on March 15th featuring nice Splash Woman remixes from Mega Man 9. Check my sig for details.

All remixes that don't have some kind of live instrument should be rejected and all of them on the site that fit that criteria should be removed.
