Who actually owns the copyright on ReMixes though? The original composers?

How would they realize this? The site says they do pay the artists. I guess when it comes right down to it, you have to trust that sites actually do what they say they do. That's something that I've grown weary about concerning sites and people in general, you never know what they do and there's no way to tell if they're doing things properly. It's hard to trust the internet. But for someone who doesn't know about OCR and comes across "Legal Sounds", it sounds like a legitimate enough name for someone who isn't fluent in internet. Not sure what I am even trying to argue at this point, just that you can't trust internetsites, which has been established I think. OC ReMix is a pretty trustworthy looking site, but it might look even more trustworthy if they release the new site design

I could see someone who knows nothing about OCR coming up on legalsounds and seeing the songs for sale, then seeing them on OCR and thinking "Damn rip-off thieves OC ReMix, trying to give these artists' work away for free" then buying it from legalsounds. Some people like to support the artists financially. I've been assured that such people exist, somewhere. But it may be a myth.

Just wondering, is this the same ACTA that Obama just signed off on? What is that going to mean for us and OCR? I wanted to make a torrent of all of the music I've released (mostly original stuff since 2005) but now... ACTA allows: Allows cencorship of the internet They can search your iPod or computer without giving a reason They can confiscate your iPod or computer without giving a reason They can monitor what you do online They can block websites deemed "unacceptable" without limit It will block p2p technology, like uTorrent It will allow ISPs to PERMANENTLY ban you from the internet without trail It will allow arrests based on things you search Credit where due, I heard about this from Bahamut on Facebook earlier, that seems to be where I'm getting most of my news on these things (Facebook, not Wes in particular, hehe) Do we need to censor ourselves? I have a buttload of mixes to do, many of which need to be finished asap. And a lot I have been signed on for months and months and have produced nothing yet. My priorities are a little whack in that regard, but I imagined I'd be working so much faster than I am now.
