I'd prefer you'd start working on the Windfish ballad. I'd really like to hear it. Personally, I'd prefer to remix 3/96 over 74/96, but hey. I gave "inside the egg" a listen. Interesting, difficult song. If you want, I can produce an accurate midi of it sometime next week, if that helps you get started. That's the one thing I'm good at. I'm also a lot better at starting remixes than finishing them... Why is "choose a name" on the list of possible additions? Isn't that just a cut-down version of the original zelda theme? Also, Tal Tal Heights... I still think it would sound awesome in an Ennio Morricone style.

Yes, I can tell... well, in that case, I would say those facts count as spoilers, and we'll leave them out. ... Funny... I thought Zero was built after Mega Man X...

[insert "Freelancer" quote here] Yeah, that's good advice. Thanks. -
Bleh. You try it. I obviously don't know crap about the guy... I'm serious. Write a new bio for him, but try to bring up the things I said in it. I didn't know he had anything to do with the X series, or that he did a good guy cameo in MML, but I was considering mentioning the saucer. Are these things you find out in MM7 / 8? ... I guess there's no point to avoiding spoilers when it comes to Mega Man anyway. Or is there? I mean... in what game do you find out about Wily being important to the X series? Also, I just realized that we might have to change things in the "appearance" list. As far as I know, the Mega Man games with roman numerals are usually the game boy ones, and the ones with arabic numerals are the NES ones. So I changed that in the bio. Yeah, I thought they looked like actors, and they also looked a bit too old, but I've never seen them play in anything, But you can never tell, can you?

Oh. That didn't sound as fun as I'd hoped. :/ heh. By the way, watkinzez, is that you on the right in your sig? You're using his face on frappr... Anyway, my Wily bio has the outline I want but the fluency is just not there, and I feel things could be elaborated without repeating what's said in the Mega Man bio. Someone help me.

Probably because the only ones that like him are even uglier and more boring. XD ... I take that as an insult. ... I think.

Yes, I stole Linearity's layout. I wasn't in the mood to relink all those games. Dr. Wily 1987 Capcom Character Summary Dr. Albert Wily, sporting a white labcoat, wild, grey hair, a moustache, bushy eyebrows and a superior intellect, seems to share a bit more than his first name with world-famous physicist Albert Einstein. The one important thing that puts them apart is that the latter was a pacifist, and that the former is the archetype evil/mad scientist bent on destruction and power. Wily's story has changed several times, but the one more commonly told is that he was originally the aide of genius Dr. Light - the creator of what was to become Mega Man, and several other humanoid robots. After stealing several of these robots for his own ends, Dr. Wily turned them into destructive weapons, dubbed them Robot Masters and let them wreak havoc on the city of Monstropolis in an attempt to take over the world. Deep inside his Skull Castle, he was defeated by the combat refitted household robot Mega Man, and fled in his flying saucer, only to return some years later with a fresh armada of new Robot Masters for Mega Man to destroy. Dr. Wily is notorious for his ability to always elude the arms of justice and return again. After his customary crying at Mega Man's feet at a failure, he always has an escape route, and returns to attempt global conquest once again, using either new inventions, or by giving life to past creations once more. Aaaah. I see. Carry on, then. Yeah, I don't have that much spare time on my hands right now. Or, rather, I've wasted the time I've had in unmod, and now I really don't have that much spare time. I'll try to go through some bios very soon, but you're so much better than I at writing bios, so I'll entrust you with improving any one of them, whenever you feel like it. I can already tell you, as is stated in the first post, that the Mega Man X bio needs reworking. Smoke doesn't seem to give a shit despite my inviting him. I could try to re-write that one myself, since it's pretty much the only bio here that I feel confident enough to write about. My preliminary Wily bio stinks, but I'll post it anyway, just to prove I've actually given it a try. Also, thanks for linking me to that post of Linearity's. Did you read the one right below it? Also, Lin's Mega Man bio was right underneath that one. Good for reference when writing the Wily bio. Thanks again. I gave Linearity a search on the forums and it appears he's only posted a single once since June 14, and that was on July 17. I'm guessing he's busy with something important. Seconded. "Good call, my young padawan". Et cetera.

Yeah. I know exactly what you mean. Making music because you feel like you have to is so pointless. It's like... having sex because you feel like you have to. (Ahem. Well. ) It kills the fun, and the end result is just... not worth the effort.

I AM working on one. Don't touch him. Coop, I thought your darkstalkers thingy was very good, but the part where you brought up what seemed like every one of them was a little bit too comprehensive, in my opinion. Consider removing the ones that are not covered in the project and mention them only as "among others", or the likes. Other than that, this is exactly what I asked of you. I would also like to thank you so much for doing this, especially after being told that the first ones you made, and obviosly spent a lot of time on, weren't good enough. Again, thank you. As for the rest of you, can anyone tell me what the hell this: means? What exactly is he done with? The bios he dibbed? Was that all? In that case, it's all good, and I have no further complaints. Sorry for being away from the thread for so long. I just haven't been in the mood. I'll be back with Wily's bio shortly.

I think the reason why he's not putting any pressure on us is because it hasn't helped at all so far. All deadlines have been blatantly ignored, people are dropping and joining like cheating girlfriends and so on. I think the reason why we can't just kick people is because we're afraid no one else will join. We've been sitting here for so long and no one cares about us. It's like the project is the boyfriend being cheated on and he's just too ugly and boring to have the courage to say "Enough! I've had it with you!" and go out and find someone new. After so many disappointments, I don't blame Starky for (nearly) giving up. To me, a remix project wasn't something that should require "leadership". Remixers should consider the project an opportunity to show their skills or to develop as a remixer with the project and its deadlines being an excuse to spend more time doing so. Unfortunately, these views of mine were changed after being in this project for some time. What I have percieved as slow progress, remixer lazyness/absence and my own inability to spend more of my time working on my seemingly hopeless remix and all the problems I had learning to use Reason (many of which I still haven't overcome), along with a rather hostile atmosphere in the thread are all responsible for the fact that I'm still not done with my mix. Starky, I know you will despise me even more after reading this post, and denounce my amazing and disgusting "flare for the dramatic", but hey, this is me. At least I haven't quit on you yet! I just work slowly. And hey, I'm almost done! WiP 9 is coming in less than... hm... 3 weeks. I PROMISE.
-
Hey Starky I'm not done with my song, just almost. Also, a warning: KFC quit my project when school started last year. Also, he's "joined" the MM4 remix project, but he "hasn't picked any songs yet", and hasn't been seen there since. He seems a bit... impulsive. You have been warned.

Hey, that's funny, because that's exactly what I did. Subtractor -> Scream (tape) -> Flanger... and still I don't like it at all. Maybe layering is the only way. Plus the subtractor is so horribly mono... maybe I can fix that myself though. -

I'm having serious problems with bass in reason3. I can't find any bass instruments I like. Listen to this: Can anyone recommend a good bass sound, and possibly tell me how to equalize it to make it sound less like ass? -

I learned the basics on a keyboard that we got second-hand for around $2,000. It has a built-in sequencer, a floppy disk drive, etc. You seriously don't need any of that. Any old piece of keyboard instrument (such as a piano) will do to start with. -

I think you should add Vocal one word hits of every common hip-hop lyric word such as "mother", the f-word, the s-word, the n-word, "please", "fool", "gangsta", "hood" etc. By combining these you can make your own hip-hop lyrics! -

I think we should have a stickie that gives advice to those of us who have no idea where to begin. Zircon's guide is awesome, but it's aimed at those who have some (but not lots of) experience. -
I just think he's using two different snare drums.

The votes for the Yoshi's Island remix seem to tip the balance here. I'll get around to working on it soon. Meanwhile, here's some fun stuff for you: http://phytrepighlet.googlepages.com/warioblast.mp3 Nineko told me I should make it, so I gave it a try. It's still too early a WiP to deserve its own thread yet, but it will have one eventually. My plans are go Russian stylee with "Hey!" shouts, male choir, russian lyrics, etc.
