so uhh... anybody got their goods yet? sure seems to be taking them a long time to ship... -
trolls are cool. trolls are my friends. i think it takes a certain personality type to roll a troll. i, on the other hand, like to roll taurens. i like being able to block the screen of the undead priest so he can't see wtf is going on. bwahahaehaer. plus, gnomes barely come up to my ankles. it's like, y hallo thar you fiendish midget, let us see if you fit in my mouth without chewing! though, if i were to reroll alliance, i'd probably make a gnome. a gnome warrior. KiSS on Smolderthorn used a gnome warrior as an MT once vs. Lord Kazzak. that was mighty entertaining to grief. and watch. but mostly grief.

VSampler can also load AKP natively. Does a pretty good job of it too. I still dunno if Reload works with AKP though. -
Gorefiend horde with me and zircon ...hmm everybody is playing horde. maybe we should all get together and roll alliance somewhere.

http://mda.smartelectronix.com/akai/AKPspec.html AKP basically means AKAI Program Files. it's kinda like the SF2 of the AKAI universe- a self contained sample format that contains all its own mapping info and shit in a single file (rather than spread it out across an entire CD). it's generally used in S5000 or later AKAI samplesets. -

you know what i mean . AKAI CD-ROM vs. AKP. anyways, apparently Propellerheads Reload (their AKAI conversion utility) only works on S1000 and S3000. No mention of S5000 anywhere. -

AKAI as in AKAI Hardware CD-ROMs, or AKAI S5000? -

incorrect. NN-XT will not sample the vast majority of those formats. -
D: that's... a lot.

How do you afford your samples/software/hardware?
suzumebachi replied to Q.K.'s topic in Music Composition & Production
Ah, but was it free? I mean the EXPENSIVE good stuff, ala Quantum Leap and all that other jazz. http://www.soundsonline.com/sophtml/details.phtml?sku=QLBS5 -

haircut? now you speak blasphemy. i will never let my golden locks of joyous fervor and victory be betrayed by the steely malady of scissors. -
there's a guy i talk to at school sometimes about WoW that plays on Thunderhorn. idunno his name though, just that he plays a female NE hunter. Shonen: Alliance or Horde?
-
damn crackfiends. i won't have a lot of time to play for the next two weeks or so. this week is hell week, and next week is finals. plus i have tracks to finish and songs to post.

mugging people helps too. on a more serious note, umm, get a job? i don't have a job currently but i usually get paid about $200/hr at gigs. unfortunately they are few and hard to come by in this area. also, free stuff ftw. -

zircon, that link is made of win and god. http://www.soundsonline.com/sophtml/details.phtml?sku=EW-080 D: I wonder if CDXtract would work on that. Or if it works on Roland/EMU/Kurzweil. definately picking up quantum leap brass though. the rest of that stuff looks interesting, but i'd much rather have one-shot samples than loops (seems like more than half of those are just loop collections). -
What microphone should I buy?

worst A/D convertors ever made. not to mention the drivers are absolute crap (don't even bother trying to use ASIO). -
Res? which one is Res? anyways, not a whole lot I can do about the gnome's ugliness also not a whole lot i can do about the cropping on the tauren or the undead. that's the way blizzard cropped them for the menus and that's all i have to work with (outside of taking ingame screenshots which would look like complete ass). i'll see what i can do about sharpening up the ones you mentioned though (still dunno what you mean by Res). LT: Sorry about that. "The resolution still looks kind of dull." Try sharperning the gnome and human a bit more. If the cropping on the rest is simply how you got them, then that's fine; I'll look at them again. I just wouldn't have wanted something where we took it when it was a bad crop job. Thanks yo.

SM57 is a tool of wonders. You can usually buy one for around $100 USD. They're pretty quiet too. Unforunately your onboard sound card is not. And HELL NO to SB Live. HELL. NO. Those cards are shit. A good place to start as far as sound cards go is the EMU 0404 or possibly an Audiophile 2496. In either case, you'll also need a preamp. -

Shure is good. Nady is suck. A few questions first: What is your price range? What are you gonna use it for? Vocals? Micing amps? Instruments? What kind of studio setup do you have (if any)? What kind of audio interface do you use? -
I nearly did the same thing back in December. Fortunately I just decided to cancel my account instead. So my 60's are still there, somewhere in cyberspace, waiting for me. In the mean time I'm using my brother's account. Anyways, I joined Malevolent Gaze on Gorefiend. Holy shit 465 members D: ..They let me in after I ran WC with some of their alts as main healer. BAHAHAHA FERAL SPEC FTW.

you are not your sound card, you are not your samples, you are not your sequencer, you are not your plugins, you are not your audio editing suite, etc. in other words, no. they can help your songs sound better, but that doesn't matter for shit if you have no skill.
