  1. I wasn't entirely sure where else to put this, but since it involves content creation and getting stuff put together I thought maybe this might be the place. Basically, it's been a long time since I used to post here regularly but as I'm getting started on a channel devoted to making people laugh and smile, primarily by being bad at videogames and pretty vocal about it (lol), it occurred to me that I should reach out to people who have supported me in the past or whom helped me through rough times, whether they realize it or not. Especially when things didn't actually stop working so much as we just wound up having to spend time elsewhere. I wanted to make a post not just about the channel existing, though... I also wanted to ask you guys if any of you cared to have some of your music in my videos from time to time. OCR has been a source of amazing remixing talent I've known of for... 15? 20 years now? I'm not even sure, it's been so long since the site was blue and orange themed and had side bars and silly stuff like that. ...I'm not going to ramble, I do plenty of talking in the video. No harm done if you're not interested either, it honestly just feels good to reach out. P.S.- Mods if I didn't post this in a good location please feel free to move it and I apologize. P.S.S - Davinci, WHY IN THE WORLD did you mute this one video?! -pull on hair- Sorry guys, that's what happens when I decide it's time to make personalized videos on a whim. Fixing this today - Rookie Bowsy Much love, The Pirate Queen
  2. Playing too many games. Was into insurance for a good while, but it was 3rd party and the stress of working for a questionable company was murdering my health, so I had to bounce out. Nowadays I'm trying to get a youtube/twitch 'career' going along the vtuber route and see if I can't make some people laugh and smile during what has otherwise been a devastatingly garbage year.
  3. Hi. It's been a long time since I've posted here, but I've got some decent reason to reinvest (I think). Could I have my name changed to Broadcast Bowsette to match my youtube channel? Thank you.
  4. I wasn't really sure where to post this, but I just had to come back to the forums to comment and say that this album has been much anticipated by me and has turned out to be amazing. Much love to you guys and to OCR. <3
  5. It's on the edge of it I think. I was expecting things like "Samus Aran is a badass woman all the way throughout Metroid, and then at the end suddenly you are 'rewarded' by flashing her in underwear" or some such. I think it is a legit issue though. As much as I love these games, the market they are appealing too is much larger and more easily influenced than it was when I was growing up, and there's less excuse now than ever for not seeing more female protagonists or strong examples in the industry. Besides that, I've always wanted to see the Princesses (as an example) get more show time. Super Princess Peach was amusing to play but a huge slap to the face though. XD Edit: This guy raises a good point, though. I don't think this is a good thing to really 'take sides' on. There needs to be more equality, but a lot of games are just as cruel and tormenting to men, promoting a need to worry over inferiority and a distinct sense of helplessness. You spend 95% of these games getting your ass beat left and right by monsters, traps, tripping over your own feet, and more and then get to spend all of a few minutes (at most) to actually see your character happy.
  6. Huh, my friend was just talking about this sort of stuff last night during table top. I wonder if she watched these? Anyway, video games have always kinda given ladies the short end of the stick and still continue to do so. Edit: ...First of all, ugh freaking emoticon... second of all, oh, I thought this was a broader feminism topic. Nevermind my silliness! 2nd edit: ...I also think using the Nintendo games for reference is kinda silly with the later games, because Nintendo 'loves' to recycle stories, and changing how the Princesses work in the core games would literally be flipping the whole story end over end. Not saying that that couldn't be fun, but that's not what anyone who plays those Nintendo games is looking for. Too much change would knock consistent players out of their comfort zone.
  7. ...The instant I heard this mix, I had to have the whole album. Halc, you do amazing work. Thank you. <3
  8. Well, it's been a good while since I've been poking at this, buuuut... could I please get a name change to Rosalina? <3 <3 <3 Edit: Thank you soooo much. <3 <3
  9. Happy thanksgiving all of you cats. You have no idea how much joy OCR has been bringing to my life for over a decade now (that's a third of my existence at 'least!'). From the interesting visitors, to the new people I meet out and about or on the web who starting talking OCR and we instantly 'connect,' to the awesome grooves and tunes that just get me through the dark and the rough, I am thankful for you all. Thank you. <3
  10. Not 'exactly' the right place to ask, but how to get invite to steam group? <3
