  1. Well, I definitely appreciate the idea Matt. However, my dad must be somewhat of a prat: He thinks the problem is a congested HD drive, Which I resolved by freeing 30GB... plus five. But I don't think this'll solve much, And I believe he's been talking double dutch. He's got me to answer to this time next week, Should my lappy stay here, and its maker it meets.
  2. Yes, be sure to get used to our britishisms in here. Going to be nuts! But with 72 hours left, i actually am in a pickle. I have had continued problems with my laptop and may get to the point that it may be in the hands of a pc repairer by tomorrow night. Frankly i can still try and write music with someone else's laptop, but what fears me is being shunned stylistically because of any degraded production, or worse, not having anything at all. I'm really worried about this now; could anyone offer a lizard a few pointers? :-S
  3. Otakatt, I just LOVE your attitude to the whole process. This is what we artists have got to keep doing, keep learning and prospering. To be fair, I had my panicky moments in the past 24 hours, thinking "how the hell am I supposed to win over zircon and/or the voting public", but I feel very calm with those words and want to give it my all. And with my production skills having gone up tenfold within the past 5 years or so, what can possibly go wrong?
  4. Well if you want something from me, trash talk doesn't work at all in regards to myself or making my music feel better than it is. So instead, I shall follow a more literal definition and creep on everyone when they're asleep, and pour the contents of their trash cans on their heads. And there we go; the bin men for this week can go home early because you're covered in your own filth.
  5. I'm still remembering the time where Flexstyle credited Jason as "Prophecy" in his second track for WCRG. And yet, that still was accepted. But oddities aside, I'll be sure to keep to the formats. You can trust me
  6. So you're saying I could still write the arrangement out as a MIDI, and get someone else outside of the compo to do an MP3 render? Not saying that I'll actually do that mind but this may end up being an option in the event that my laptop breaks down during the competition and I'd be unable to get it repaired/replaced in time. Anyone who follows me on Facebook or sees me hanging around the #ocremix IRC may know what I'm talking about.
  7. Indeed, there's too much Chemical Plant coverage around here surprisingly. Though in regards to Sonic 2 love, I'm pretty sure Phonetic Hero will do wonders with Hill Top. That is one tricky source to go in regards to content, but I'm sure he can do it too
  8. Well, I've got 15 provisional directions going on for depending on who I'm matched up with. Like with Plant Man for the WCRG, I have a tendancy to pick sources that are fun, catchy, don't have too much going on and are under-represented on OCR; so hopefully this will turn out a good treat.
  9. Looks like both sides needs an inspirational poster to get them to do their best. For the Sonic guys: And the Robotnik Side:
  10. If only if I can play the guitar like Plant Man Even though it's not the final, those are some awesome sketches! I'm with you on the awesomeness for the Concrete Men and the Gentlemasters Club, and I got to also say the group shot for the Blue Bomber Brotherhood looks really cute
  11. Nah, I ran a tally earlier this week; the Robotnik side has 8 posted and 1 pending, and the Sonic side has 6 posted as well as 3 pending (Phonetic Hero, Magellanic and DusK). So after all that thought about tough brackets, it seemed as if both brackets seemed pretty even
  12. If I ever faced AkumajoBelmont, I will definitely NOT fuse rock n' roll with organic instruments like the time we clashed in the WCRG. Also: Come on Mokram, you're not a noob; "The Desert Has a Strange Dream" is waiting to be posted right now, and I saw a lot of potential in your style since my last days of involvement with the PRC. I'm pretty sure you'll fight the good fight in your bracket
  13. Firstly, one step ahead of you. Secondly, I'm pretty sure "Sonic-related" is perfectly acceptable. I shall wear that and my sig with pride! (at least up until I get beaten mercilessly... x_x)
  14. Really? I think if I was Brandon right now I'd only be worried about Gario and halc. But in my case here's Jason Covenant, Phonetic Hero, Main Finger (probably one of my biggest fears), Ben Briggs, AkumajoBelmont... and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I guess if I get knocked out in the first round, better by the hands of someone more experienced.
  15. I guess this is when I start looking into all the possibilities. The Sonic bracket roster looks tough, but hey, Rexasaurus is there so who knows about what will happen
  16. I'm obviously weirder than most other people on the forums, but I shall bring Spyro: Season of Ice (GBA) into the 'frustration' related category. While the isometric gameplay was a good idea to put a naturally free-roaming console platformer onto a handheld, it did however result in huge navigation difficulties that made it difficult to keep track of where you should be going. Put that on top of the ridiculous requirements to get to the following world hubs and the fact that you practically need EVERYTHING before even fighting the final boss once, not to mention the ridiculous difficulty of the Speedways even in comparison to the console versions, and you have a painfully hard collectathon that may even make the guys at Rareware blush. I have only ever 100%'d that game without cheats once, and even then I had to look up maps >_>
  17. I'm all hoping to see if I could form a good collection, but I honestly can't see myself getting that far. Even if I do my best, I'm already in fear of a) what my opponents might do, and odd voting politics. I'm still pretty sure I won't survive the first round
  18. Rexasaurus, if you're reading this, it'll be hilarious if we come together in a matchup here, even moreso since we both have 2-player Sonic 2 stages. If it happens I already have a damn title in mind...
  19. I actually still have the project file for "Divided From Grace", believe it or not. However, most of the soundfonts (mostly the more organic ones) that I used for it were completely lost, so if it ever gets used for something, it may more likely be a remaster rather than a lossless re-release. But who knows, some of the other remixers might still have WAV files for their tracks yet, for whatever purpose or other.
  20. The earliest moment for me would be the lock-on technology for Sonic & Knuckles. Sure, we only had the physicals for Sonic 1 and 2 to attach it with, though the awesomeness kicked up tenfold when I borrowed a friend's copy of Sonic 3 and really got to see its capabilities. It's a shame that maybe up until Vib Ribbon, that kind of technology won't be seen again. And of course, I can't avoid threads like this without bringing up Crash Bandicoot. When I saw it in action for the first time (from the same friend that I borrowed Sonic 3 from, no less ), I had absolutely no idea that a platformer would end up go into the fresh dimension that it took. I wondered what it would be like in the past if a standard scrolling platformer had a character that could occasionaly walk into the background or closer to the player, but the clever design for the first game really took the cake. I feel honored to see it be my first experience of the PlayStation And while we're on a PS1 tangent, let's bring up the Dual Shock controller. N64 players may have already had their equivalent and had fond memories of it, but I never really got used to analog control until my brother invested on one some point in early 1999. It took some learning to try and get used to it, as well as the rumble in it whenever I'd take damage or react with the environment someway or other, but it really brought fresh life to the games that were compatible with said controller. Just as well that I had to learn to Dual Shock, especially since I'd eventually be playing Ape Escape later that year, with its complete dependency on said controller. Yep, call me a 90s kid, but I feel at home with those memories
  21. Pete, "Derailed at Wily Temple" made its way past the judges - congratulations! That was a real grower for me back at the WCRG :D

  22. This is looking pretty sweet. Merely 3 weeks left and we have a full house, but I guess all there is left is the hype. Looks like Crash Bandicoot is on the substitute bench again.
  23. Nope, still 8. The spreadsheet had 2 of the rows dedicated to headers; use your grey matter!
