Super Mario Bros. 2 'Insomnic' Kinda weird.. phased pianoy noises and a thud thud thud thud drum bit. not bad, but kinda odd. Not for everyone.
-
Sonic CD (JP) 'Palmtree Panic' Starts out kind of lo-fi sounding.. but gets pretty classy as it progresses with some nice jazzy pianoy bits. Not bad. Not my favorite style though.

Wild Arms 'Adlehyde Castle Flow' Smooth and blissful. A nice mix. A great game. Very enjoyable.

OCR00261 - Chrono Trigger "Magus (Temporal Rehab)"
m68030 posted a topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Chrono Trigger 'Magus (Temporal Rehab)' What a surly beast of a track. This was my introductory track to my later remix "Magus (Decay of Hope)" that injury did some work for... They are intended to be played back to back.. however I feel that most people don't really get off on this sort of audio track, so I'm sure it's been deleted more times than it has been listened to. -
Tetris (NES) 'Techtris Type Z' An interesting electronic rendition of the familiar Tetris music. Drumming bassline and explosive snare bits blend with a minimal synth array of sounds flying around left and right in the stereo image. Interesting.

Boogerman 'Sewer Thug' Wtf? a jaxx remix that isn't punk? How can it be!? Breakbeat? Omg. jaxx smoked something and coughed this little nugget of boogery goodness up. Some of the instruments are a little lo-fi sounding.. The arrangement itself is great. The sax line is just killer.

Castlevania 'Wickedest Child' Straight up rock remixes are always welcome. The guitar intro of this one reminds me of X Japan. It's wide open and epic sounding. The lead line kicks in and just grinds until the file runs out of bits to kick your ass with. Awesome work.

Mega Man 3 'Wily Metal' This is such an awesome remix. The intro is very reminiscent of Metallica, and despite what many of you think about the band, the music itself is great. This remix is no different. Regardless of what you may think about Gux, for whatever reason you may or may not have ill feelings (though I personally can't think of a reason why you might), the remix is absolutely stellar. Top class all the way. Probably one of my favorite remixes of any Mega Man game.

Final Fantasy VI 'DevilSLAB' McVaffe kicks my ass yet again with a fun and sneaky little mix of this quirky theme. i think djp's review did a great job summing this one up. it's fun.

Sonic & Knuckles 'rAAw Battery' This is very very very very loud. Lots of bass, lots of high pitch stuff. Did I mention it's loud? I'm not really a fan of this one.. it kinda hurts my ears.
-
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 'LatinSphere' Another stellar McVaffe track. Wonderful arrangement and instrumentation all around. The steel drum lines are lively and bright. A great little track indeed.
-
Lufia II 'Mystery in Red' The drums caught me a bit off guard, because they don't hurt my ears like so many other DJP tracks. The guitar works is great; very awesome. Probably one of my favorite DJP tracks.

Q*bert (GBC) 'A!Bol Hardcore' jaxx brings the pain with this chip-grinding, mullet-whipping badass of a track. very heavy interpretation of virt's quirky track for a Game Boy version of the ancient game Q*bert. definitely cool.

Ultraman 2 'vs. Brazil' mutagene can do no wrong in my eyes. or ears for that matter. excuse me while i trip and roll on this audio drug he's put on my hard drive.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 'IceCapped' woot. this one is just awesome. McVaffe hits us with even more jaw- dropping beautifulness. wonderful instrumentation and arrangement.
-
Dragon Seeds 'New Age' A nice breather from all the electronica this site seems to collect like Pokemon on parade. This is straight up orchestral style sounding arrangement of a game I've never played. Short and sweet.
-
StarTropics 'Beach Party' This could almost pass for HHC. It's fun and light. I'm sure if I had played StarTropics when I was younger, like I always wanted to, this one would make me smile a lot bigger than it already does.

Final Fantasy VI 'Tina, Don't Fall' I love the strings in the intro of this, I wish the entire remix was like that, because as soon as that part is over and it goes into a fast new-age peppy sounding mode I lose interest in this remix. I really really wish that the first 25 seconds of this remix were representative of the entire thing.
