  1. Final Fantasy VII 'Neoteric Assembly' Fast and upbeat. Definitely interesting. Then it just stops and goes minimal and builds back up to the same upbeat peppiness. Not bad.
  2. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island '2001 Elastic New Year' I like this one. It breaks my speakers. Do not listen to this with headphones. It's a proven fact that DJP has no concept of what 'high pitched' noises are. Just listen to the drums in all of his remixes. We still love you DJP, it's ok.
  3. Doom 'Doomed' Nice. Clean distortion. hah. who'da thunk. Slow and brooding. Someone is about to die, and it looks like it's you. That lead instrument is just haunting. I like it.
  4. Shadowgate 'Dancefloor' The intro to this just sounds like mega man 2 weapon You got! weapon screen. The rest of the remix is good dance music, nice deep and solid.
  5. OCR00228 - Chrono Trigger 'Blue-Minded God' everything's blue in this world. i put the gun up to his head. bang. so much blood for such a tiny little hole. the deepest shade of mushroom blue. deep dark and throbbing, waiting to get free and destroy the world. death by magus. death by lavos. death by failure to download this remix.
  6. GoldenEye 007 'Controlled Jazz' Minimalistic jazz of the classic Bond theme and Mustin on sax? sounds like a winner to me, and my ears agree.
  7. Seiken Densetsu 3 'Electric Fields' Right off the bat you know this one should be pretty good. The nice clean instruments and cymbal swells just sound nice. The choral line is a little iffy, but it works well enough.
  8. Arkanoid 'Navel Lint Dub' Have i mentioned I love mutagene's music? his dub is magic. download this now. stop reading this now, go download download download!
  9. Super Mario RPG 'Mushroom Way Madness' The instrument quality is a little low. The arrangement quality is a little high. it balances out. Nice work on this one. but shame on DJP for using the term "MIDI-ish". You will be flogged severely for that.
  10. Batman 'Music of Funk' Woot. Get down and dance. I always remembered how much I liked this theme from the original game, and this is a fun dance version. It's a little slow to start, but once it's gets going it's great. Rock the beat with j00r feet.
  11. Shenmue 'Matsuri Madness' It's no secret that the monkey machine loves everything mutagene does. grainy synth and dubby wonderfulness just make the monkey machine glow like a burning out dynamo at full speed. this remix is no exception, swirling words and a nice ethnic instrumentational array bouce off the empty spaces in my head and make me smile like a mad man.
  12. Panzer Dragoon 'Panzer Groove' It's McVaffe. you can't hardly go wrong with one of his ultratracks of doom. Flowing arrangement, kicking drums, and stellar instrumentation makes this just gorgeous. Great stuff.
  13. Metroid 'Space Orchestra' I'm not sure about "Gothic Opera", that's something I'll leave to Saviour Machine.. But McVaffe gives us some interesting minimal spacy noises with hollow cavernous reverb echoing off into the alien worlds below. A nice interlude to stick between two other Metroid mixes on a cd.
  14. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 'Gerudo JV' Clean synths and sharp arrangement make this remix a nice little track. On top of being a great theme by itself, this remix makes nice use of a minimal lead line over some nice drum works. The tom hits are a bit loud, but that's just me griping. Also, the trumpet sounds a lot like the sample from A Link to the Past on SNES, which is a nice allusion, intentional or otherwise.
  15. Super Mario Bros. 'Soundcheck' Short, dirty, and spiffy. Makes a great opening to a mix CD, warming up to kick ass, or just catch your attention. recommended.
  16. Lunar: The Silver Star 'Singing Pretzel' Just.. .. DJP.. You know we all love you right? The remix is awesome, but please, don't sing.. I really like this remix.. I really really do, but it just makes me feel dirty to know it's you singing. When I do a remix that I sing in, and I do plan on doing that, THEN I'll quit bitching. (:
  17. Bubble Bobble 'West Side Homies' True story- I found this remix off of Kazaa about a month before it was posted on OC ReMix. It's a fun little interpretation of the classic BB theme, funky and light, smooth and fluid. Bubble Bobble remixes are always welcome by the monkey machine, and you should like them too.
  18. ActRaiser 'Fillmore Freestyle' I never really played ActRaiser, but McVaffe always produces the highest calibre of music. Do yourself a favor and grab this one even if you're like me and have never even played ActRaiser. It's worth it.
  19. Mega Man 2 'Tekno Wily' Such a great theme, the wily from megaman two is. this is another great techno interpreteation of it. i wish we had more tracks by this remixer, because this one is probably one of my favorite versions.
  20. Legend of Zelda 'The Music of My Groin' What's that smell? Shael, you're awesome, even if you do hate episode 2, you dirty bastard. this is a great little bizarre remix. i like it, one of only around 4 people who do. show me i'm not alone! it's hard to say much more about this one, it's just weird and fun.
  21. Alex Kidd in Miracle World 'Eastside Interlude' This is a fun little funky track... I left this one on loop for a few hours when I first downloaded it. nice and smooth. great work djp.
  22. grainy synthesis is just so sexy. don't listen to rob. this remix is drop dead gorgeous.
  23. Final Fantasy VI 'Terra in Black' Wonderful guitar work and arrangement here. Definitely a top notch remix. The quality of the sound and arrangement is great. It's a shame I just don't like this remix, because if I couldn't get over the dirty feeling it gives me I'd probably really really like it... but after hearing Death on the Snow Field, this version of the theme just kinda feels wrong to me. But it's such high caliber composition I'm torn. This is the kind of file you download just to have on your hard drive and share, even if you don't like it.
  24. Final Fantasy VI 'Death on the Snowfield' Yes yes yes yes. Shoot me in the head, because I'm gonna go insane. I love this remix. The lo-fi sounding drum line has a particularly warm sound to it, contrasting with the minimal and barren sounding guitar line. Just beautiful.
  25. Gauntlet 'GAUNTLET!!' Fun and goofy. Nice arrangement. Very little can be said about it.. just go ahead and download it. It's wafer-thin.
