Phantasy Star II 'Burnt Mota' A nice long epic remix from DJP here. Classic ear splitting synths up and down the board and an interesting bell-glassy pad pushing through and through the melodies all the way. Nice.

Streets of Rage 2 'Badass Posse' This is pretty badass. Great percussion and piano and guitar and just everything. it's the kind of arrangement just you want to smile and listen to. It's just fun.
-
Punch-Out!! 'Iron Mic Challenge' It's not da' pipes this time, it's da mic. The iron mic that is. This funky hip hop type ditty is a nice interpretation of the theme. If I weren't so dangerously white i might bust a phat freestyle.

Shadow of the Beast III 'Purified' Reminiscent of his Shenmue remix, mutagene takes a bit harder edge here with some pushing drums cut and paste and beat broken all over the damn place. a definite departure from his normally trip happy dubfest remixes. I like. give this mix some lovin'. It's good stuff.

Final Fantasy VI 'Relm's Weepy Loop' I love the loop in this one. It's got a great grainy lo-fi sound that just fits right in with the gentle piano line. McVaffe is no stranger to your ass, because he's kicked it many many other times. Just bend over and let this one have it's way with you. Don't worry, it'll be gentle.

Moon Patrol 'Shanecappella Vox Beat' Cool dude, it's Moon Patrol. This is a very odd remix, but well executed as far as arrangement for body parts goes. Just listen, if nothing else you'll get a kick out of it.

Ys 'Feena Flow' Wonderful sounds in this one. The plucked strings have a nice deep and rich sound, the pads later on fill a nice high register, and the piano is soft and delicate. Overall a nice light remix.
-
Mega Man 'Cut Man Sonata' Gorgeous. Absolutely stunning. I love this remix. It's a wonderful arrangement. It might not be a strict sonata, but it's still an excellent piano track.
-
Chrono Cross 'Radical Punks' Punk music is great. Ailsean is great. Chrono Cross is great. Wonderful quality on the guitar. Crisp and clear and full of ass-kicking goodness.
-
Mega Man 3 'Needles' in a word, epic. This is what OCR is all about. talented people producing awesome music. this one is just freaking awesome. grab it now.
-
Donkey Kong Country 'Phear the Monkey' Wtf are you reading this for. Go download this you silly person. Scott and prozax tear some phat shit up here and stuff it into an mp3 with "WARNING! KICK ASS!" written all over it. High-quality samples and arrangement make this one a must download track.

Battletoads 'Bird Guy Jam' A nice mix between thudding drum hits and light airy synths. The rubbery bassline is a little weird. But hey, it's Battletoads. I like.
-
Blaster Master 'Japanese Swamp' Mazedude has always given us great stuff. this Blaster Master mix has some nice odd noises and a soft but deep bass line that give a nice dark sound. I enjoy this with much fun.

Ninja Gaiden II 'Trance' jaxx always produces high-quality stuff.

Final Fantasy VI 'Arab Painting' The first time i heard this track it just blew me away. The thing just dripped quality arrangement and instrumentation. The "bohm" vocal clips are a little out of place at times due to the limited pitch range of vocal samples, but still, a top rate remix.

Chrono Cross 'Nikki Learns a Song' First off, I love a nice long remix. I love songs I can get into for several minutes. Not that I don't love short little gems like Music of my Groin, but when a song gives you time to get to know it and hear development, I just love it. This track is no exception. It's got several different personalities that come and go, thrashy, smooth and wild.. a great track by Ailsean.

Art of Fighting 2 'Match with Yuri' Dancy fight music. yay. Not really a style I enjoy, so it's hard to be too critical. not bad.
-
Final Fantasy 'Saga Prelude' This one makes me a little uncomfortable.. I don't particularly like the 'tuneup' at the beginning and the clapping at the end. The arrangement is kinda weird sounding. The instruments themselves aren't bad, but it just feels sort of rough to me.
-
Chrono Trigger 'Island of Zeal' The original theme is so great it would be pretty damn hard to do a bad arrangement of it. Mazedude does a great rendition of it with some nice quality samples and sound effect enhancement. The choir bit is a little questionable though.
-
Bomberman 'Chip Trip' I love a good chip tune. This one is nice and light. A little playful. The little synthy lines fly back and forth in fast running lines and tie together with a simple drum line and bass line. Nice.
-
Chrono Trigger 'Schala's Paradise' Heavy bass drums and lite synthy bells driving onward steadily. Nice background music. The melody sort of blends in with everything, it's a little hard to follow.
-
Final Fantasy VI 'Shadow's Theme' Nice. brooding, slow. Very beautiful grinding bits. I like.
-
Metroid 'Metaltroid' It's Ailsean. I shouldn't have to review this for you to already want to download it. While not as refined as some of his other mixes, this hard-edged Metroid track has some great trash moments in it.

Chrono Trigger 'Winds of Time' Very peaceful. Has a very SNES sound to the samples used. A nice remake. Sounds like it should be in a 32-bit remake of the game with true redbook or xa music.
