  1. So.. anyone think that maybe Nintendo might have learned some, with Metroid Prime 3?

Their friend system works entirely based on your existing address book, and you have to both work at communicating, to establish a connection between them.

We can all hope so. It's nice not having to enter a code for every game.

  2. For descriptive purposes. You probably want to get some idea what sort of experience a game offers before you buy it, right? Classification is a short hand description that aids in making a decision on what to play and what to pass. Since classification is usually limited to a short sentence or even a single word, then the words chosen should be as accurate and enlightening as possible to avoid misleading people into misguided expectations.

Then people labeling it as an FPS are in the wrong.

If someone who has never played a Metroid game before asked someone what kind of game MP3 was, followed by being told it's an FPS, then going home to play it will probably be disappointed. "Scanning things? Solving puzzles? Backtracking? What is this crap! This is boring."

Since they were told it is an FPS, they were probably expecting a fast pace, go into this room, blow up these enemies, move to next area kind of game like Doom.

  3. Relating to the Metroid Dread, maybe this means that another party is making it?

I mean, it says "Nintendo is not making the 2D Metroid at this point in time."

Not making the 2D Metroid? They say "the" as in it already is in the works, but they're not making it.

I'm probably just looking too much into it though :P

  4. Mario Kart Wii:

Up to 16 players at one time online

    Battle Mode Online

    Stunts in the air

DS tracks re-created with Wii graphics

    But wait!

"The details printed in Official Nintendo Magazine 21 regarding Mario Kart Wii were healthy speculation on our part and are in no way an official announcement from Nintendo. We are sorry if we have mislead anyone. We do not set out to mislead our readers. ONM apologizes profusely for any misunderstandings that this has caused."

    :(

  5. I've played some of the songs on Universe. I liked them, especially the Tsugaru one. This one:

Soft pads are a lot better than what they used to be. When I first played DDR, it was on a Dreamcast on 2nd mix. The soft pad was terrible because it would crumple up like paper and always move around.

Now they have a grippy bottom and they don't crumple up, even on harder songs. I bought the Mario Mix on the GC when it came out, and I was surprised how well the pad that's included worked. But, it's still a soft pad, so it's not the best thing.

If you aren't satisfied with the pad that comes with it though, you could always go for an Ignition pad. It's better than a soft pad because you can feel the panels, and it's not too pricey compared to a metal pad. http://www.redoctane.com/ignitionpadv3.html

  6. dems fightin words missy

Well, Hunters is a pretty bad game(single-player anyway). Online was cool for the time that I played it. Although, sometimes it was quite annoying when people would get the first kill and just run around and hide in their alt-form for the rest of the match.

  7. Everyone knows I am a huge metroid fan, and I haven't had time to read the other posts, but I'm roughly ten hours into the game, but in the beginning, I was highly disappointed by the non-metroid feel of being in someone's alliance. Did anyone else get this weird feeling?

(By the way, I'm not knocking it, I absolutely love the game.)

I didn't wanna give my opinion on the game yet until I beat it, but I had the same feeling too.
