  1. Kes was the only positive aspect to Voyager, and they killed her off due to UPN/Viacom's demand for "higher ratings with the 18-24 demographic," which called for one thing. Big boobs. They certainly got 'em. They dumped Kes and turned the rest of the cast into big boobs. The thing is, I thought Kes was much hotter than Seven of Nine =D
  2. Im not really a Star Trek fan by any means. I grabbed a few episodes of TOS growing up, and TNG was a show I would watch when nothing else was on. So recently my roommates snagged DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise, so I figured why not. First of all, DS9 is complete and utter crap. I've never seen a more boring sci-fi show, and could only stomach a handful of episodes. I heard the Dominion Wars were cool, but theres no way they could keep my interested until then. Voyager was actually pretty good. Chakotay and Tuvok have enough badass in them to top everyone else in the series combined... twice. Except maybe Riker. And Janeway had a very different, and IMO, very effective command style. It also kind of reminds me of Battlestar Galactica, the whole "stranded ship trying to get home" thing. Which only helped it, since BSG is sci-fi perfection. One downside? The departure of Kes. I really liked her =( Then we come to the black sheep of the saga, Enterprise. I have to say, I was totally blown away. I didn't have really high expectations, but I LOVE Enterprise. Season 1 and 2 were pretty decent, but the arc through series 3 is some of the best TV ive ever seen. Season 4 was a small step down, but it was also quite good. I honestly dont know why everyone dislikes it so much. There is not a single unlikeable character in the whole crew. Maybe Hoshi at the beginning when she was kinda whiney, but shes also crazy hot - so its not a problem. And I dont care what anyone says, I really like the opening song. Especially the more upbeat Season 3 and 4 version. The montage of accomplishments from the Apollo missions, to the space shuttle, to the ISS, to the Phoenix, and then finally the NX-01 was totally sweet. Enterprise is the only Star Trek show that I like enough to put on my iPod. Which says a lot - its a very exclusive club.
  3. Haha, stop lying. There are no gurlz on teh internetz.
  4. Not sure if this'll see any views way down in this thread, but... http://www.gamespot.com/news/6149638.html Turns out WoWs gonna be a movie.
  5. I tried a long time ago to learn from books, and I found it pretty much useless. At least for me, I cant just sit down, read a book, and translate that through my fingers into something real. It has to be much more interactive than that. Honestly, the Miracle system way back for the NES was a pretty solid teaching tool, although I think the gaps in the lessons were a little too large. I'd get a MIDI keyboard and some software, then make the jump to a real piano.
  6. Im afraid thats a big drawback of midi, that it does sound kind of fake. Midi's arent actually songs though, just basically a bunch of instructions to play this instrument at this pitch or whatnot on your PC. So you could download a new, hopefully better sounding instrument set and be good to go. I remember a while ago, back when MIDI was in its heydey, there was a Rich Midi Format that sounded quite a bit better. Perhaps try looking into that? Anyway, I wish you both luck.
  7. I rarely review remixes, because I really don't have a musical ear, nor the ability to really isolate things I do or don't like about a particular piece of music. I'm not sure about this piece, however. I like the genre of the music, and god knows I love the source... but for some reason, I just don't think it flowed together so well. Perhaps if the "main" notes of the individual themes were a bit stronger, it would make it easier to follow. Yes, this is exactly why I don't review remixes. I don't know what the hell im saying.
  8. Paladins are pure support, not Priests. They have more powerful buffs and a wider variety, as well as more efficient heals. Priests might have more powerful focused heals but in terms of a support combat role, Paladins are superior in every way as far as I'm concerned. I'd agree, except their stats really don't reflect that. They get a lot more melee stats like STR and AGI when they level up, wheres priests get more casting stats like INT and SPT. Sure you can layer on gear to change it, but theres a lot of wasted points otherwise. I really think Paladins shine as a tank who can heal if necessary. Honestly, resoration druids are better healer's than priests anyway. Innervate and nature's swiftness are absolutely godsends. And Mark of the Wild is a fantastic buff. Thorns is also very nice for the tanks. In my ideal party, there would be a warrior as primary tank, paladin as secondary tank/secondary healer, mage for DPS and crowd control, warlock for wipe prevention, damage, healthstones, and extra HP or crowd control, and finally a druid to wrap it all up as a healer.
  9. In the first winter event, they would knock anyone down if you hit them from behind.
  10. Its not entirely based on DPS, however that is a big (read half) of a class's power. Shamans and pallys are both overpowered by a slight amount. I'm not saying this as some newb whos been killed by one and shouted "OMG NERF!", ive played both classes quite extensively. There is a rock to every scissor. And your class might not even have it. But its all balanced.
  11. Its not often I post my comments on a mix, but this is top-top notch. The lyrics are great! Fantastic ear candy here. This is one of my top 5. AMAZING JOB!
  12. This mix really is great. It's one of few Chrono Trigger mixes I actually like =D Fantastic mix to a fantastic game. Congrats Neil.
  13. Mere words connect express how beautiful this song is. I love Star Ocean with all my heart, and Rena's theme was very touching to me when I first played Second Story. You take that same theme and raise it to an orchestral level I have yet to see in any remix. Its so beautiful, and so somber, it gave me chills listening to it. And im not embaressed to say I shed a tear or two as well. An orchestral arrangement like this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but everyone should download this. This is most definently one of the best, if not THE best mix on the site. Seriously... I didnt know a mix could be this good. I also ask: Dale, what would you like to eat?
  14. I like it! Its good to see another Tales of Phantasia mix, because IMO, its the finest RPG ever made. I really like the song selected, "Be Absentminded", because it occurs at a very sad and touching moment in the game. Though im still waiting for someone to make an Aviators mix What really caught my eye... err, ear about this one is how it starts as a soft, sad song, but then really picks up later into a techno-type mix. It may not be anything revolutionary, but I really enjoyed it. I'd recommend downloading it.
  15. My first remix review =D. Im a huuuuge Star Ocean fan, and im a firm believer the first installment was the best. So im excited to see a Star Ocean mix on the site. Anyway, its not bad. It is done very very well, but the entire song is a little bit too soft for me. I'd prefer something a bit more upbeat. Its also a mix of a very repetetive song, and not one I would pick for a mix. But then again, that would allow for more creativity . Still, if your a fan of SO1 and like soft tones, I would definently recommend getting it.
  16. Wow. Just wow. Ive listened to this mix about 1000 times now, I just cant get enough of it. The first part of the song is just pure bliss for my ears. The 2nd part is nice, but I dont like it as much as the first. If this would be a pure corneria mix, I would probably listen to it every day until I die. Still, this is the best mix on the site.
