First of all, EvilHorde, Bllllaaaagh ;P Now, Example of a biography paragraph? Errr...Just a little bit about yourself, ie: Remixer VanderGoot is the alias of Martin Von Hibleheim. He has been remixing for 10 years...blahblah...a guitar player...blah blah...etx. A structure would work fine, but i guess you could say this is similar to the mixer bios on OCr. nothing big. Just a small bio. as for the song, a small description of the song. This will help me when I write a write up of the song for the site. Hartza, we'll see. This is still just an idea. TO: that idea could work quite well. We'll have to see.

this is what i was thinking for the back of the "cover". A figure standing with her back to the camera and her hands wrapped around her body, perhaps with blood dripping from the palm. In the background, a martian landscape with the moons in the sky, tinted red. I'll see what can be done about the bg....The track listing would be at the bottom left, where the lines are. She would have, maybe, an evil smile on her face?
-
aight, just a thought. Thanks anyways.
-
TO, this girl you told me about...how would she feel about being in a photo for this project? Secondly, do you have any areas near you that look like the landscape of mars? I know Australia might have some, but are they close to you?
-
Nousentre, I know someone that can sequence some awesome drum tracks. How does this sound: you record your bass and guitar tracks then I get him to lay down a drum track? However, knowing him, he might go ahead and add his own touch to the song, which wouldn't be a bad thing. How does this interest you?
-
looks like i missed a good one. Next time. still, good to see you keeping this a community thing and not an ocr thing, larry.
-
btw, TO. loving that bunny theme. Btw, you working on both mixes or just the bunny theme now? ps: you said earlier that yours would segue into larsecs. is that the case or is it the other way around? I think, maybe, because of the nature of larsec's, it might have to be Yours -> Larsec edit: FRONT PAGE UPDATE.

cool title choices. Added to the list. plus, bandwith is always nice. I'll inform you when it becomes needed.

K, just to give this monkey an update, I talked to djpretzel a few minutes ago about linking to "doomproject.ocremix.org" where "doom project" would be the title of the project. Because of this, and the fact that GT is working on the site as we speak, i think it's necessary for us to come up with a name for the project in the "soon" future. So here, I will list all the opinions given thus far. I want everyone to give input on these or add their own. The Doom Remix project Dimensional Rift (joker) Solitary Confinement (joker) sretoohs fo gnik si mood (sith lord aku) Sretoohs'Fo'Gnik' (sith lord aku) Rip and Tear (Caleb) Chainsaw: The Great Communicator (Caleb) Now I'm Radioactive (Caleb) Big-Mouthed Floating Thingies (TO)* Packin' 80 Pounds Of Heavenly Joy.(TO)* Packin' 80 Pounds Of Heavenly Music (TO)* Packin' 21 Track Of Heavenly Joy (TO)* Thy Ears Consumed (Geko) Ear Deep in the Dead (Geko) Icon of Song (Geko) Any more suggestions will be welcome. Usually, prepositional phrases sound good . Beatdrop: It's a damn good picture, mind you. Just not what we need for the site.
-
Aight, man. Keep working at it then. As for the pic, like GT says, as high res as possible. It can be fixed by GT later, so don't worry about it being too big.

Well, here's what I had in mind for the site. The artists page would have a "wall" of eyes (being the mixers eyes) and you would click on the eyes to open up a small window with a portrait and a small paragraph of information on you. What say you, mixers? edit: to clarify, a full front face portrait would work best. Preferable something semi professional. for example: BEATDROP: would work (sans finger) Most people have digital cameras or know someone who does. Please try and get a picture to me or G-T sometime soon. Also, i need each of you to write out a mini bio of yourself, and a short write up on your song (which i will use in my write up). Post it here, if necessary.

Interesting intro. It cuts off right as it starts to get interesting. . Looking forward to hearing the rest.
-
Hit him up on PM or IRC and talk to him about it. I know his mix starts off with some piano, so maybe you could work that into the end of yours?
-
Analoq: cool. look forward to hearing it soon. bill: the second half sounds kind of messy, but i like what you are going for so far. If you need any samples, contact me on AIM. ab: your link isn't working for me. I'll hit you up on AIM or something, and you can send it my way. TO: Sounds great so far. Nousentre: It's coming along well. If you want to, you can get into contact with someone on this forum who is a drummer, or can sequence some nice drums for ya? Keep working on it. As for myself, after my finals this week, i'm going to head back to work on my WIP and hopefully make it sound a lot better. One thing I have noticed is the abundance of Guitarists on this project. Thus, if anyone needs guitar on their mix, i can only assume that another would be willing? Also, remember to take the transitions into consideration. At least a couple of tracks should flow into each other.
-
Probably me. Just paypal it to my email.
-
I still need to get WIPS from a couple of people.
-
Check first post.
-
Sure. Most people have shown me their WIPs anyways. ALSO, IF YOU PLAN ON HAVING YOUR SONG SEGUE INTO THE NEXT SONG, NOW WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO START PLANNING THAT.
-
I'm glad, AA! Aight, fellers. Deadline for WIPS is tomorrow.

OCR01281 - Dragon Warrior IV "The Grief of Aktemto"
Navi replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Personally, I feel that this song sounds quite good, with a raw, live quality that make the little errors forgivable. a great 8bit track. Good stuff, man. -
e3m8 is free again. any takers?
-
I would just like to note that after the Final Deadline, there will be a short period (maybe a couple of days?) which will be a critiquing period. Mixers can offer critique and tips for other mixes and hopefully help make all the songs on this project sound better. So keep in mind, you may have to change your song after the final deadline, so don't go deleting files or anything. Joker: Nice name. I'll listen later.

sounds like it was a fun show...

head's too big, but what can ya do...
