  1. gonna bump this with a new WIP I am working on: www.mythrilnazgul.com/DoomProject.mp3 1M4: Command Control (Mr. Anderson): E1M8: Phobos Anomaly (Ralphis): E1M9: Military Base (DamienKrauss) E2M2: Containment Area (Peeples): E2M9: Fortress of Mystery (secret level) (En Sabah Nur) E3M8: Dis (chester?) 2. The End (Episode 3 Outro iirc) (Bart Klepka)
  2. Well... If it meets the standards of this project then its ok for me. Too bad there hasn´t been much feedback on the updated version, so I really don´t know what to think about it. I´m a bit concerned with the overall volume of the song. Is it too silent? Besides that I´m pleased with it and I´m ready to declare it as the final song... But I´m begging for feedback. It needs to be jacked up volume wise. Also, it seems sort of like a straightforward cover of the song. I haven't listened to it in depth but I couldn't make out a lot of arrangement. I think we need to set a volume standard, by which the other songs should all follow, in order to maintain continuity. Also, if you plan on having your song segue into the next song, please plan that out now. Xel, I'm going to wait on confirmation before I cross em off. Larsec, I'm confirming ya.
  3. Just a quick bump. Does anyone want to design the website and or have any ideas for it?
  4. Ana, update the link in your sig! Awesome! Got some mad confirmation from: Carbunk1e, beatdrop, Adhesive_Boy, Nasenmann, EvilHorde! Also, the first song, from Beatdrop (which I will listen to tonight). Furthermore, I have no idea where klm09 went. Which is why i made a new thread, so I can control the front post. Updating first post with some more info... I need confirmation from: E1M2: Nuclear Plant (Xelebes): E1M4: Command Control (Mr. Anderson): E1M8: Phobos Anomaly (Ralphis): E1M9: Military Base (DamienKrauss) E2M2: Containment Area (Peeples): E2M9: Fortress of Mystery (secret level) (En Sabah Nur) E3M2: Slough of Despair (Larsec) E3M8: Dis (chester?) 1. The Text Music (episode outro) (suzumebachi)*** 2. The End (Episode 3 Outro iirc) (Bart Klepka) ***Suzu may or may not be in. I've talked to him in IRC
  5. There were only 2 main factors that determined what ending you got in Silent Hill as well. ...chainsaw?
  6. Still waiting on a load of mixers. I'll start PMing on Friday.
  7. TO - Because, at this point in the Project, we aren't concerned with quality control, yet. Quality control will probably begin after the WIP deadline. Therefore. the decision to keep the song in the project is yours alone. If you feel it is good enough, stick with it. If not, create a new one. (PS: I think it sounds decent, but I know it was unfinished.) Sanguineuniverse - I'll add your name to the list. Is that a final song, or a WIP?

I don't know how long this period will last. However, this is a vital time for the songs, as it allows for touching up and perfecting the songs. Thus: DO NOT DELETE YOUR SONG FILES, FLP FILES, ETC>I know there are a few people who already have, but if you havent DON"T. here is a list of potential seeders. if you have bandwidth to give, please sign up. If you have HOSTING, that is even better. Mythril Nazgul Geko Richter (mirror) KyrenGraves Global Trance is designing the page, and he needs good high quality front face portraits of the mixers. Anyone also deeply involved in the project without necessarily being a mixer (caleb and gt himself come to mind) will also have a portrait on the site. I will also need a short paragraph of information on yourself and a short paragraph on your mix(es) for my write ups for the site. Please try and get those in asap Keep on mixing folks. this project is coming along VERY well. Kudos to you all. Also, again. Think about transitions. If you want to segue into the next song, please contact the mixer of the next track and work something out. THE OLD SHIT The songs The Rules The Current List of Remixers Involved. If you do not meet a deadline, you will be dropped from the list. I am already questioning some of the names on the list, as to their “existence”ablilty, but I will go with the benefit of the doubt and give them one week. Once a track becomes open, feel free to claim it. THE NEW DEADLINES (Outdated) Doom REMIX Website - http://www.peoplesremix.com/doom (contact Caleb if you need webhosting as well) Apologies for the new thread. I need to be able to control the thread title in order to run the project fully. This post will be updated with new Information as soon as it becomes available. Use this thread to check in, discuss the project, post WIPS, comment on WIPS and post final mixes. If there is any information I have missed, please tell me.
  9. Wow. That was quick. Teh_goat showed this to me in IRC and I loved it. Had it on repeat for almost two hours. The production on this song is excellent. No muddiness, no instrument clashing, just clean Top 40 rockin goodness. Vocals are witty, well recorded and suit the genre perfectly. The guitar solo is not extravagant, once again fitting the "vocal line improv" soloing that is quite common in songs of this genre. I am very impressed by this mix. And, to clear up my confusion, this is NOT by Goat.
  10. Look Gray! I did it! Gray Lightning’s latest remix, a self proclaimed return to “new age/ethnic” style music after his recent endeavourers into more cinematic styles, is an excellent example of how one can take a small amount of source material and turn it into a four minute long epic piece that is chock full of Gray’s touch. While this may not be his best mix, it definitely works as an excellent remix with We open up with chimes and waves, a soothing ambient opening with bells, which, as DJP stated, have become Gray’s staple instrument. The strings are emotional and work well to compliment the mood of the mix. As the song continues, the bells continue to repeat their melody and we are introduced to a filtered choir that has an ethereal feel to it. The drums are subdued during this part, and along with the piano that plays segments of chords as well as the waves that resurface, create a moody ambience that builds up to the next section. At 3:00, we shift gears to the finale. The strings pick up the pace and we have an increase in percussive activity. The song ends and we have closure, with the waves that brought us on our journey, bringing us to the end. While this mix may not have a lot of energy until the last minute, its beauty is in the emotions it creates. DJ Pretzel described it as hypnotizing, and I doubt I could come up with a better word than that. Excellent stuff from teh Lightning that is Gray. ~Mythril
  11. Nice stuff, Prottie. Very bouncy. A keeper. Excellent use of sub par samples.
  12. wow, that was ... quick! Hehe, very Mazedudish stuff here, awesome on the repeat and good for long runs. ~!~
  13. Thanks for the advice, Compyfox! I'll keep on looking. And Thank You Mucho Comrade Emp for the LINKAGE! edit: that site has links to soundfonts for: GAMBUS REBAB ERHU CANANG GONG KESI ANGKLUNG GENDANG SERUNAI SERULING REBANA GEDOMBAK GEDUK So score.
  14. Hmm, I know it's highly unlikely that I will find any of these soundfonts free, but I am going to ask anyways. Does anyone know where I can find decent quality soundfonts of any of the instruments from Hero? Kodo drums, "oriental" sounding strings, chinese lute, etc. Thank you!
  15. The mythril nazgul tracks were most awesome.
  16. Just going to reiterate the general consensus and say that this is probably one of my favorite tracks of of KiC as well as my new favorite AB track. Well constructed, with some really gorgeous cello. PS: In his write up, DJP forgets to mention GL's KiC song, also on the site.
  17. Hmmm..... Larry: "My name is Binnie and I like Darkwing Duck and when I make a remix, it really SUCKS!" Binnie: "WHAT?!?" This is also the only place you can hear Fowl Jive LIVE 2K4, btw, so you have to get it. That is the greatest MP3 ever.
  18. Fun stuff. Enjoyable to listen too. Apparently not techno... Where's Gecko when you need him?
  19. Nah, one of my relatives found a key.
  20. I go out of the house and come back at 9:30 in order to catch vgf, and realise the doorknob lock is locked and my keys are on my bed.... I just got into my house ten minutes ago.
  21. I FUCKING MISS VGF BECAUSE I GET LOCKED OUT OF MY FUCKING HOUSE ALL NIGHT!!!!!!!! god hates me.
  22. No, I heard from the OUS forums. Real Mustin, not Gay Mustin. Good. I want to hear him speak....saying something other than "Damn good coffee"
  23. This has to be THE defining year for GrayLightning as a mixer on OCR. He becomes a judge in December. Eight mixes of excellent quality since january, the most recent being his stunning Shining Force mix, which clearly placed him amongst the best mixers in the community. His sound is professional and clean; his mixes are film score lush and vibrant with images. His latest mix, the second OCR release from the Kong in Concert project (fast on the heels of Vig's excellent mix), is probably one of, if not, his best mix to date. The arrangement is seamless; the quality is top notch. The instruments are beautiful and realistic, organic, to steal rellik's word. Gray might have had some minor problems with precussion in the past, but that is not to be seen here at all. Everything in this mix clicks together like pieces of a puzzle. Gray is proving himself to be the master of ethnic orchestral. I don't see any problems with this mix. Excellent title; delivers the goods on time, without any shipping or handling charges. GrayLightning has shown incredible maturity as a mixer, and, as always, if this is any indication of what is to come, then I will be blown away. Great stuff.
