Who gives a flying fuck what genre it is? This is the Metroid Prime 3 thread, not the Pointless Debate thread. It's a game in which you solve puzzles, shoot monsters, and collect stuff. Call it "run around and collect shit and shoot monsters" game for all I care.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm thinking Nookster, and yet I'm not telling anyone to go to hell, just that they shouldn't do it. It's like starting forest fires. Its bad, and only you can prevent them.

Well, I like to discover these things on my own. It's not like the guy committed a mortal sin, but there definitely isn't anything "cool" about intentionally posting spoilers. It doesn't deserve a 'GTFO', but it should be avoided and looked down upon. And I'm assuming that you people have already beaten the game, and therefore may be a bit biased and tend to think "Why do I care I beat it already", but I have yet to actually beat the game, and was kinda looking forward to the surprise.

Uh, yeah it did spoil much. It spoiled the final boss, of the game I have been playing, which is not cool.

Metroid Prime 3 is a superb game. Criticize it all you want, it won't make a difference for me. Retro gave 100% effort, and it shows. Even its special little details have their special little details. And the game is smart, too. This is a smart game for people who like smart games. And speaking of smart, if Nintendo knows what's good for them, they will beg the shit out of Retro to breathe life into another one of their franchises (or to make a new one with them).

I haven't gotten a beam upgrade yet. Does the PED gun use the beams, or is it completely separate?

Fair enough. It's funny how we're already talking about the next Metroid, especially since the new Metroid hasn't been out for a week yet.

I think we're a bit off though, may be my fault. I was talking about 2D with 3d models and backgrounds, not full-on 3D. There's already a 3d Metroid on DS, I don't really see the need for another one right now.

You obviously don't know how Americans are. I've found money several times and returned it. I returned a lady's purse as well, and she came back and gave me 20 bucks as a reward. I've left my debit card at the bar twice, and they've held on to it each time. I've seen them do it for countless others as well. Yes, there are assholes who will even beat you up to take $5 from you. But, before you stereotype all Americans, use your brain so that you won't make your own place of origin look stupid. Oh yeah, and an American built this site and forum that you're posting your b.s. on, and several of them maintain it as well, so keep your denominations in PPR or somewhere else.

I agree with the above, and there is no battle between Metroid and Halo, it's fabricated crap that was started by the same assholes reviewing these games. "This is no Halo" is the dumbest comment on there. Of course not, it's Metroid PRIME 3, moron. I also despise the part he said about "and long stretches of wondering just what the heck you're supposed to do next", which shows that he is interested in nothing but shooting things that move and completely opposed to or intimidated by puzzle-solving. Getting the game and playing it last night was like having sex for the first time. It is truly an awesome game and a benchmark for how ANY first person adventure or shooter should control. The graphics, the control, the atmosphere, level design - everything is there, and yet people find something to bitch about. Now let me make a point that others have made before - you can criticize anything, and people will do it no matter what it is. You can criticize chocolate ice cream a if you want to. It was really hard for these reviewers to find anything negative in this game, in fact they had to pretty much fabricate negative things to say about it. That's just a testament to how awesome this game is. If you haven't bought this game, then go get it now. It is truly superb.

Yeah, Gamestop sucks pretty hard (especially since they bought out Rhino Games, which was awesome). Hey, at least they aren't like Best Buy, asking if you want a warranty on frikkin' USB cable.

My review of the Metroid Prime 3 Reviews Contradiction 10/10 - Wow. They gave Twilight Princess a higher score, a solid Zelda adventure, but not built ground-up for the Wii . Wow, most mentioned how it has the best controls for a console shooter ever, and it gets a lower score than say, other FPS's at the time. Criticism on lack of innovation -7/10. It's a sequel, yet it's not completely different, so we can't give it that coveted high score, can we? General bias - 8/10. Let's see what Halo 3 and Resident Evil 5 get, why don't we. Console comparisons - 5/10 Mentions how the controls can't be done with certain consoles and how certain graphics can't be done with certain consoles. Flat out bullcrap - 10/10 Score is lowered for load times (You don't even have to deal with a loading screen and the loading times are still way short compared to many other games) You may have to wait for some doors for 5 seconds. Gasp! Total score: 6.5 / 10 - Mediocre. Not exactly horrible, but they should have worked out issues like bias and general contradictory bullshit before releasing these reviews. If they would have done that, then these reviews could have gotten a much better score. After all, lots of useful information was there, it's just the bullshit that gets in the way.

Arguing about Metroid games, bleh. barf. They are all good. There was never a bad Metroid game, and there never will be. This is coming from a guy who actually played the entire series from the launch of Metroid up to the reserved Metroid Prime 3 that I'm picking up in seven hours. They are all fucking awesome games. Yes, that includes Metroid Prime 2, which was hard as hell, very scary, and full of badass powerups (including Screw Attack), and the ability to die very easily when being careless.

Dammit, I'm going to fly to the store when I get off work. Hope the lady's in a good mood.
