  1. Hoping to release something, EP, or short album or whatev before 2010, yes.
  2. OH hai, responses. This track has gotten 800% more awesome in the interem. Get ready for face rocking, sometime before 2010. Probably holding this for some sort of album/EP release, so no more public previews. Yeah, I would definitely say, if you didn't hear the drums, it would be 3/4 or 6/8, but the drums are definitely 4/4 in groups of 3. Dunnno. I've got a few other tracks that do stuff like this (Deep Breath, Adjusting to Reality). It's fun to mess with stuff like that. My friend responded and sounds interested in blasting guitar all over this track.
  3. Hmmm. I have Reaktor already though I haven't jumped into it much yet. The rest would be nice to have but I've been pretty happy with my set-up as of late, and I'm not sure I need to pay $400 to complicate things for myself at this juncture and never start learning Reaktor for real. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  4. Three hours of sketch work tonight. Sounds vaguely Prince of Persia esque but with synthies . It's in 6/8 time (or 6/4, or I don't know...educate me if you know how to determine). I've asked a friend of mine if he wants to jam out on his guitar for this. If not, I'll probably look for someone around OCR. Stream it here: http://twt.fm/215804 Edit, I'm starting to think this is a slowish 4/4 time, just phrased in groups of 3's and 6's. Hmmm.
  5. I'm likely going to be looking heavily into this for myself and at least artists on my label. Plus, I'm working with an indie dev team on an XNA game, so I'll have the XNA community membership. I'm interested in working with people to release their tracks through my company (Protagonist). That way you guys don't have to each get your own $100 subscription, and also along with it would hopefully be a bit of exposure through my label and whatnot. If you're interested, keep in touch. I'll be looking into this.
  6. Was good meeting you all for lunch! Tootles!
  7. I don't think I'm gonna go to Otakon this year, but I'd be up for meeting some of you folks at lunch sometime/somewhere, Friday or Saturday. If you guys plan something, I can probably show up for that.
  8. GT5 is supposed to have damage (though I doubt it will allow you to flip a car completely), and yeah, WRC is cool (who the eff wants to actually race Nascar though?). Hopefully it will be cool. Forza has been from the start a step ahead of GT though. I think the first one came out a little before GT4 did and managed to have good online play while GT4 cut it. Some interview with the main Polyphony guy had him saying he never played any Forza games, so something tells me they aren't worried about matching up to the competition. But whatever, I don't really play that style of game anymore (racing sims are like the RPGs of racing where you have to put in a ton of time to have fun and I don't have that kind of time now). And this is a thread about PS3 and Wii....
  9. Ehh...I think at this point the Forza games are more exciting than Gran Turismo. They may not look as hot, but features like damage, online play, actually being able to roll your car in F3, paint customization, etc has always been ahead of GT. I'm looking forward to GT on PSP though. Do people really like Resistance? I rented R2 via Gamefly (gamefly rocks, btw) and wow, the single player was the most generic, boring bleh-fest. It was merely competent, and that was probably not what I should be playing after playing the amazing Killzone 2. I didn't get into the multiplayer though - I hear the co-op mode is cool.
  10. The first R&C game I played was the third one (Going Commando) and it was quite awesome for one playthrough. I got Future and while it was definitely good as well, I felt like it was the exact same game. I don't see myself playing through it again. Good stuff, but it's not grabbing me anymore. I really like my PS3. Uncharted was a blast and I'm really looking forward to the second one. Killzone 2 was an awesome, polished roller-coaster ride with multiplayer that I thought was quite good (if I had more time on my hands I probably could have gotten addicted to it). Wipeout HD is the shit. Flower and flOw are beautiful. I can't wait for The Last Guardian. My brother thought Valkyria Chronicles was awesome. MGS4 is...MGS4...I wouldn't say the gameplay was great, but it was good, and the story and artistry of that game are quite distinct (its also only $30 now). Both Motorstorms are pretty kickass. Heavenly Sword was worth the $15 I paid for it. I'm looking forward to picking up Infamous at some point since it is supposed to be great. Burnout Paradise is best on PS3 and it was nice buying the $20 download version via PSN. I have a 360 as well. Some games I prefer the PS3 controller, so its nice to have both options available to me depending on the controller I think best suites the game. There's supposed to be a price drop coming extremely soon on the PS3. Also, the PS3 slim model which is all but confirmed should be showing up sometime this year.
  11. There are a few games that can do this...all the Pixeljunk games, and Lair for some reason. There's delay between input and seeing the reaction on screen since basically the psp is sending control input to the ps3 which is then encoding a live video stream and sending it back to the PSP via your wifi, LAN connection, or internet connection. It's not good for action, but I played a bunch of Pixeljunk Monsters like that. I
  12. Another year successfully completed!
  13. Good plug, bro! She is pretty cool! Really like the quality of this guy's art and site design too.
  14. Stream it, or download it right here!!! http://www.protagonistrecords.net/node/147 This is some good old epic trance stuff with piano lead. I haven't done trance in so long, but I think this turned out well. The production is probably the best I've done. This track should end up in the XBLA Indie Game I'm a part of. I'm doing the music, audio, major game design ideas, and possibly some UI graphics. Can't really say much about it, but it will be a hybrid music/puzzle game. The illustration is from our artist for the game, Alayna Lemmer.
  15. Check out the rest of the streaming tracks at http://www.protagonistrecords.net/daydreams you can get a good preview of what the album sounds like since half or more than that of each song is streamable there.
  16. I'm definitely QUITE looking forward to this game. I bet it's more than a year off though.
  17. Those of you who bought it- what do you think? Awesome, yes?
  18. The technology is impressive..apparently it recognizes like 42 seperate joints in the human body, in up to four people at a time. I'd be more excited if I cared about motion control...there are very few Wii games that make me wish my 360 or PS3 had motion control, even if it worked as well as Nintendo hoped it did. On the plus side, Natal will most likely end up being cheaper than buying four nunchucks and 3 wiimotes. If MS was smart, they'd forego the next price drop and just start putting Natal in every 360.

  20. Might go. As usual I'll decide closer to then.
  21. Cool guys. Just want to add that I'm not posting like a ton of guest tracks, just when there's been a lull in releases from my artists that i work with on the label.
  22. The only PS1 games you can play on PSP are ones you buy from the download store. All disc ones just run in the system and there isn't a way to transfer them. THe second question I answered already. The first 20 and 60gb ones played PS2 games, and there was an 80gb version that plays almost all PS2 games, though there are now newer 80 gb versions that don't. It will be hard to track down new-in-box ps3s that plays PS2 games since they haven't been around for a year or so.
  23. Google works for a lot of this stuff. The PSP 3000 has a new screen that has better colors, refresh rate and brightness, but has a bit of an issue where side-to-side motion creates some aliasing. You might want to watch out for the PSP Go! coming out probably later this year. Details will be coming at E3. No PS3s in stores play PS2 games anymore. The last one to do so was the 80gb one in the MGS4 pack last year. All PS3s play PS1 games. Downloaded PS1 games from the store work on both PS3 and PSP. I don't think MGS is on the store, but you can check yourself. store.playstation.com/ They don't sell PS2 games.
  24. Sure. As long as it's generally got an electronic aspect to it, and beats.
