  1. Wow. This is much sweeter than I expected. Very smooth sounding and very well produced. Samples are all top notch. This song builds slowly, getting the groove mooving, then when the rest of the instruments bust in and the song gets even more interesting. Cool guitar and great piano. Great ambient sounds. Kinda short. I wish it went on for longer because it's good. Unfortunately, this seems like a song that people will pass by because Tomb Raider is definitley not known for its music. Don't pass this up. It's awesome stuff.
  2. I like this. It moves well, and is fun to listen to. The intro totally gave me a different impression of what was to come than what actually did end up coming(I don't know if that's a good or bad thing). It all seems a bit muddy with a lot of things going on at one time, which isn't that horrible, but the drums kinda end up sounding a little weak. It's not because of a lack of volume, either. Perhaps a different snare sample or something. The section at 2:30 is cool. Good stuff.
  3. This is really cool. Sweet beat, great sounding guitar, good piano. This song screams some sweet atmosphere. This is really good and it seems its not getting all the downloads it deserves from small amount of reviews up so far. For some constructive critisism, the guitar seems a bit loud and kinda overpowers the rest a bit too much for me. Other than that, awesome. Great stuff-keep it up.
  4. I've never played this game and I've never heard this tune before, but this mp3 is probably gonna be moved from my "game remixes" folder to one of my electronic music folders! It's so great, it can totally stand by itself without the listener knowing the original song. I think that's what a remix is about. Just about everything has been said about this song. My favorite part is the stuttered piano and the whole section around 2:20. Very cool. Very chill. Very good stuff. I'm going to go check out his original stuff now.
  5. I like this. It's excellent at what it's trying to do. Good beat, interesting synth lead that bends well in the right places, great ambience, just quite good overall. Nice work. What's with the 40 seconds of silence at the end? Please tell me I'm not on crack....
  6. Pretty much everything that's been said already is how I feel. I love that acid synth and that smooth, piercing synth that comes in around :56. Everything is done well; good drums, bass, balance. I do like the ending. I feel ashamed that I don't recognize this tune...I've had the Sonic CD game in my CD players listening to it's sweet music a lot since I got it way back when, and I can't place this. Awesome work though. keep it up.
  7. WOW! I was compared to BT!!!! HAHA yay! BT is my idol!
  8. This is great! I love those organ sounds. You could have made that pattern played by a non-effected organ, and it would have sounded fine, but the little cutoff changing effects just adds a great touch. And again with the organs, your improv is really great! I've been in jazz bands and I wish our soloists would throw in such cool, melodic ideas into their improv solos. Everything else is top notch! Nice stuff.
  9. Hahah weeeeee! I'm so glad people enjoy this! Makes me happy. I really appreciate the comments I've gotten so far; especially from you, LeonHeart. Those samples in the song were recorded by me with my MiniDisc player and a homemade mic at a zoo in Hawaii during my summer vacation. I was trying to record birds singing peacefully, but then a fight broke out in the monkey cage! Needless to say, I had to run over there and get a recording of that. It was hilarious. I threw some of that at the end of the mix for shits n giggles. Let me just say: I can't believe that people think that those monkeys at the end "actually DID fit in well"! Wow..I threw those in there as a joke! To me at the end of my song, I'm thinking, "Ahh, that was epic...the song is winding down peacefully....aahhhh....soothing...." -SCREEECH! "what the!? "-SCREEAAACH!-" hahah....wow, that just totally ruined the mood!" This mix was actually first posted back at vgmix.com and I thought that the more relaxed atmosphere over there would make the monkeys more of a "crowd pleaser" I guess. I actually considered taking them out of the version I submitted to OCR and my mp3.com page, but I decided I didn't want different versions floating around confusing people. But, whatever! Glad you guys like it! Thanks for listening!
  10. This song is....neato. Very odd. Some great sounds moving around in this one. One of the most different mixes I've heard, and this is a good thing!
  11. This is pretty good stuff. Ghetto Lee Lewis knows how to make trance. Pretty much everything is everything is very solid except for the somewhat boring and weak-sounding drums. I think this mix's biggest weakness is how much it sounds like other trance. Nothing surprised me, intrigued me, or made me think (except for the surprise ending). The main lead synth I've heard a bunch of times already, particularly the lead synth sound. I've heard this already in another BOF mix: FFMusicDJ's Sad Melody Mix. One last nitpicking thing: there seems to be some reverb over the whole song that is kinda bothering me. Just makes everything sound a bit weaker when it should be kickin'. No biggie though. Overall: This is very competent and I recommend it if you don't mind hearing sounds you've heard before in other trance mixes. If it took more chances, mixed things up a little more, and made me think, it would be a bunch better. Lookin forward to the next mix by Ghetto Lee Lewis.
  12. This is a very sweet tune. It really reminds me of Genesis Sonic music. I don't know what the source music was like, but assuming that the original sounded like a Sonic tune (you know that cool Genesis sound), this mix upgrades the synth quality and makes it more listenable while retaining the charm and feel of the original sounds. (I really hope that was understandable) This is very well put together, and everything done here is done tastefully. The ending is interesting, but a little abrupt. This is some super good stuff right here. Check it out if you're yearning for a little Sonic but not Sonic musical goodness.
  13. Pretty good. I thought there was room to make this thing more energetic. Also, you've got the treble on this way up...It may sound good on your audio system, but it's annoying on most other people's. When you are mastering, try to listen to it in winamp or something and watch the visual eq thingy and compare it to professionally recorded songs in the same genre to get the balance better. Some of the synths were pretty generic sounding, but overall, this way a pretty cool mix.
