Tim Follin is back I think this can be released now
He's back? What game did he compose for?

Wish I could, but I gotta finish some other projects by then. =P Your work's coming out great though!

The BMI registration for Hard Times lists only Bruce Connole as writer/composer. It's unlikely to be an error since Buxer is listed as cowriter on a couple of the other Jetzons songs.
Though at the same time, it's possible Brad still worked on the track and simply wasn't credited. From the interview posted ealier in this thread:
Black & White: Did that not bother you that Michael did not include it in the song credits as co-composer?
Brad Buxer: No. I did not ask to be. When you have the opportunity to work with such a musical genius, be credited or not, it does not really matter. I had a great opportunity to working with Michael all these years. I'm probably the musician with whom he worked most of his career. I was a musician and arranger from 1989 until 2006. It shows how we were on stage, him and me ...
I know this isn't MJ we're talking about but maybe he's not big on being credited?

Correction for the song "The Early Crow Gets the Snail (Wind Crowrang vs. Crystal Snail)" on the The Grand Maverick Remix Battle 2010 portion:
Composers are Noriyuki Iwadare & Yuki Iwai.
Noriyuki Iwadare specifically composed X7's Wind Crowrang stage theme (listed as "Higher The Air~Air Force Stage" on the OST). http://vgmdb.net/album/2179 and http://www.squareenixmusic.com/composers/iwadare/biography.shtml for details.

Yay I'm glad you found people to room with. Brushfire is good people .)
Thank you; that's good to hear!
-
I'm rooming with Brushfire Thu, Fri, and Sat nights, so I've dropped my room reservation. Glad to not have to pay so much out of my ass!
-
This style works very well for this song. Great work! =}
-
Thank you! This will take longer than expected to finish since I just handed off the previous version as my final but I still plan to upgrade the samples to make a more fleshed-out version. Stay tuned...
-
Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely address these points as I get closer to my finished version. =}

I've finished orchestrating this in Sibelius!

Now time to upgrade those samples...

Here's an early work-in-progress of a SaGa Frontier 2 arrangement I'm doing for my final project in Brad Fuller's Digital Orchestration class. For this assignment, I'm basing the arrangement off the piano version, but I'd like to add parts from the OST/game version afterwards. I have about 75% of the track covered in Sibelius right now, but I also have to stack up more brass and make other tweaks. After that's done, I plan to take it into Logic Pro and use the Kontakt Factory Orchestral samples with automation, and possibly some Vienna Symphony stuff too if I have enough free time to get into Studio B at school.
Again, this is unfinished, and it's using somewhat mediocre samples right now (Sibelius 7 Sound Set), but any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Game: SaGa FRONTIER II
Song: Einsamkeit / Loneliness /
Composer: Masashi Hamauzu

Well, I made a reservation for my room. Unfortunately I could only get in the 4th-6th and I needed 3rd-6th, which means the first night I may have to sleep in the lobby or go next door to another hotel. LOL
If anyone is interested in splitting costs with me for my room Fri/Sat nights, let me know.
-
I've been looking forward to this for some time. The upgrades to existing songs is also greatly welcomed. Thank you very much! =D

I'm going to be there this year. I'm already pre-registered. It'll be my first MAGFest. I'm flying in from California and will be staying at either the Gaylord or a nearby hotel; whatever will be the best deal. I'm open to sharing a room with someone if we can lessen the costs.
I also have a question. It seems most of the events (at least the DJ stuff) happens Thu, Fri, Sat. Is Sunday mostly just the "pack up your shit and leave" day?
-
Larry, do you have a timeframe of completion or anything? I want to make sure I'm involved musically before things wrap up.
-
I got around to watching all of the videos posted in the chat log. The Insomniac Skies video was great! I was digging the violin shots in particular; very nice. So sad that Aaron left you! =P
-
Has anyone found any? I'd really love to hear anything from this game arranged because the compositions are great, and a nice use of heavy electric guitars, but the sound quality on the DS is terrible.
-
Emerald Lake Zone is a really great track. Nice job, WillRock! =D

I want to do a piano-based medley of tunes from Plok. I can create the arrangement, but can't perform the piano part live. I may be studying music, but I'm not nearly that advanced yet. If anyone is willing to help me out here, that'd be excellent.
-
Great to have the show back. Won't be listening to this live, but I'm checking out all the podcasts. Make sure to keep 'em coming!

WHAT'RE YA SELLIN'?
Sorry to say, but the badge has been sold to the first person who contacted me. Thanks for the offer!
Again, to everyone, THE BADGE HAS BEEN SOLD.
Thanks for reading!
-
WHAT'RE YA SELLIN'?
I'LL BUY IT AT A HIGH PRICE.
(Do I PM you or what?)
Thanks, Dhsu. I already have another person who said he was buying, but I haven't gotten a response from him. I'll message him again and if he doesn't respond within a couple days, I'll make the deal with you instead.
-
If this project is still open by next year, I want to throw in my own arrangement, or collab with someone willing to do an arrangement. I'm thinking of covering some Plok tunes.
-
Could you share some more details, like for example, the cost of both of these?
I bought the attendee ($40) badge. I'd be willing to let it go for $35.

The hotel reservation is free. I'd just have to have it transferred over to the badge buyer. Of course the hotel stay itself costs money, to be paid at time of arrival.
Oh wait. You're asking for someone to buy your badge FROM you.
I'd check with Mr. MAGfest on that...
Yes. I already spoke to Mr. MAGFest, and he told me to find someone to buy my badge from me, hence this thread.
I tried asking him if I could apply the badge to next year instead, but didn't get a response.
Aww that's too bad Kaleb .( Was looking forward to hanging out at MAG. Good luck with your career/school stuff .DThanks, Amy! You helped to get me started with music so I definitely want to meet up with you again. And you're cool. ;} I will try to make it to MAGFest 10.
