  1. I found the torrent on the front page of OCR.
  2. I for one have been excited about this Remix Project since I first heard about it. Chrono Trigger was one of my two favorite SNES games, so I am obviously excited about the prospect of hearing a complete project like this one. And like others before me have said, there are a lot of us who are just plain bleeding from our ears to hear it. We've been ready as long as the project has existed. Some of us have been watching since it's inception. I'm typically an impatient person, but I understand that an undertaking like this one requires a lot of time and effort to accomplish. There are two or three games that I'd like to see Remix Projects of, but I *know* I don't have the time and effort (and ability for that matter) to see any of those off the ground myself. I'm just glad there are people out there who do have those qualities. I've been more or less cool with the delays. The only thing I'd have to say that bothered me at all is the fact that there are people out there listening to it right now. =\ But I guess if I had a server capable of mirroring then I could have had that privilege as well. I'm just glad the BitTorrent technology exists or I wouldn't be able to help this project at all. Also, after seeing the public "outcry" when more delays were announced just reminded me of why so many game companies just flat out got rid of the idea of announcing release dates. Blizzard's motto became "The patch will be out when it's done," simply because they know that there are some times (ok... when it comes to Blizzard: SEVERAL times) circumstances that are beyond their control. So they announce a day, miss it, and all their loyal fans and subscribers call them a bunch of liers (with various explatives included). So they pretty much abolished that practice. Perhaps not such a stringent deadline should have been applied. I mean, as you said yourself DarkeSword, as far as the 10 year anniversary goes, you have until the middle of 2006. Perhaps it would have been best to stick with, "Chrono Symphonic will be released as soon as it's finished." Anyways, I can't wait to see/hear the finished product. I've got many other OC Remix projects on my computer but I really think this is shaping up to be the best one so far. A big thanks to everyone involved. <3
  3. I don't post very often in these forums, as I usually don't have much of an emotional response to remixes (even ones I really like). This one is different though. I'm a huge fan of acoustic guitar. That's a fact I simply won't apologize for, even if it's a major part of why I like this remix. I don't really have an ear for techno, trance, electronica, etc... though I know what I do and don't like in those particular areas. I do however, have an ear for acoustic guitar. I myself play guitar. As a guitar hobbyist I love this piece. There is plenty of deviation from the original for me. I like pieces that deviate from the original, but not too much. This piece is just right, for me. As far as the ideas of 'bad notes' or 'bad tuning' go... I really didn't notice the 'bad notes' in the third minute until I really checked for them. I have to agree with what one of the judges said... the notes are resloved by the following chord. Therefore, they work musically for me. As far as 'bad tuning' during sections... I haven't noticed it yet. At all. The percussion doesn't detract from the piece for me as much as it might for some people. The string sound is very obviously electronic, which I don't like, and is most likely the only thing about this piece that I don't really like. I love this mix, and in addition, I'd like to hear a 100% solo guitar version. But that's just me. So, overall, this is easily one of my all-time favorite Chrono Trigger remixes, and I have to say, "Neil, keep up the good work!" Definately an 10/10 for me.
  4. Enclosed (bottom of post) is an image of my BitTornado client running. I'm using the WinXP version. The upload limit setting shown is Cable/DSL Fast, but even on Cable/DSL Slow, or Dial-Up my internet connection dies. I've checked the Network Performance in my Task Manager, and it just shows an upload, and no download. But if that's the case, why is my internet slowing to a crawl? Also, if you'll notice, I show my internet connection activity in the taskbar. Both lights there are solid, and stay that way until I close the torrent. I mean, I seem to recall running Kazaa with a similar (or higher) upload limit, and I could surf the web, watch streaming video etc.... But I think BitTorrent just hates me. EDIT: Well, if what I read here (http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/37.html) holds true, it seems it's a cable modem (or other hardware) problem? Finally find some way I can help, and I'm not compatible. Ah well... sorry guys.
  5. I finally completed all 1000. I'm going to try seeding for a while, but when I tried to seed the first 500, it seemed like the torrent was still destroying my bandwidth. Eventually my web browsing slowed to a crawl, and the rest of my family on our 3MBit cable connection was feeling the burn. So bad that it was worse than our dial up. Has no one else had this problem? EDIT: Internet slowed to a crawl within minutes. If anyone has an idea what could be wrong (a setting or something?) let me know, I really would like to help by seeding these.
  6. Just thought I'd mention, that I'm glad you guys did the BitTorrent thing. I've never been a big fan of it, but I was wondering how I could help out here at OCRemix.org. I'm currently downloading both torrents on my cable connection here at home. I'll try to keep my comp on as much as possible. I may turn it off at night, to give it a rest, and so I can sleep (loud fan). I'm also going to be restricting my upload a bit... haven't chosen an actual number yet. Probably won't be more than 20kbps. Thanks for giving some of us out here a way to help out. EDIT: Well, I may not be able to seed after all. It seems that whenever I have BitTornado open (I had the first 500 done) that it was still using a whole lot of download bandwidth. Even if I'm just seeding. *shrug* I'm not sure if it's a setting or what.
