OCRA-0010 - Radical Dreamers: Thieves of Fate
prophetik music replied to MechaFone's topic in Album Reviews & Comments
i think so too. just couldn't get the exact room sound on the re-record, it always sounded way different. i had to stick with it =( also, the lyrics are available on vgmix as well, under that song's description page. -
q-pa's set was fantastic. i want it.

the clicks you hear aren't artifacts, they're the natural sounds of pads closing. you're hearing the g# key of my soprano sticking, actually. -

i just noticed that this is not the same track as the one released in the project. the one in the project release is correct - the one on ocr is not. can you fix that, dave? or someone? -

lol at zircon. for some reason, when i tried to make a thread here (when there wasn't one) i wasn't allowed to. go figure. i appreciate all the good comments and critiques coming at us. i'll answer a few questions. 1. assuming i can get files from everyone, i'd love to do a lossless version. not being an audiophile myself, i didn't really think of that. my track (starbright) is on my stolen computer, so the only reason you'd get lossless of that is if i got it back - other than that, i was going to contact everyone soon and get some files from them if at all possible. 2. dude, that's a saxophone. vibrato usually means no clarinet. and besides my solo track, everything's done on my alto for the project. lastly, yes, i did sing Thieves of Fate. doug did the arrangement, taucer did the acoustics and the electric for the first half, level 99 did the electric on the chorus and all the heavier distro stuff, and i did the vocals and the sequencing and mastering. 3. yeah, track 6 is missing from the rar. that's because i'm an idiot and missed it. i'm trying to get in contact with everyone now. 4. ellywu2, primarily a vgmix guy, is a dude. he used voices from a sample pack, i'm assuming, because they aren't live in the he-recorded-them sense. also, since i had every one of his vgmix mixes, i know he had more than 15 or 20 tracks on that site. he ain't new, but he is damned good, isn't he? one of my personal favorite mixers. SO glad he was able to finish his track. 5. shadow, if you pm me to remind me in like three or four days, i'll get you a version of ToF without the vocals in it. also, starbright was a live saxophone octet, recorded by me (SSAATTBB) 6. eternal, the way you can tell it's not a soprano is because the break isn't the same as the clarinet. soprano sax and clarinet have their breaks pretty close to one another (concert concert B-C for clarinet and soprano, while alto is E-F concert). if anyone has any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. i really appreciate all the extra work everyone on the project did (and guys like djp and liontamer on the ocr side of things) to get everything ready to go. thanks for all the comments! -
OCR01670 - Radical Dreamers "The Scar-Sealing Girl"
prophetik music replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
well, i loved it. which is why i picked it to be released first. first mix to be started and finished for the project (darangen's was first to be done, but he started it before we did), first mix to be accepted at OCR for the project, first mix to be released. my favorite part is when the guitar comes in after the keys. fantastic job, you two. EDIT - forgot this is ross's first mix. what a fantastic way to get onto OCR =) -
me and stevo are back. damn, mag rocked. i'd say that the best part for me was the twenty minutes or so that virt, norg, escariot and i spent singing tags. videos to come, hopefully, but next year there is totally going to be an acapella rockout concert of us singing manchoir stuff, i hope.

fratto's right. trust me when i say that projects that lose a strong sense of leadership almost never pan out. look at laproject, seiken denetsu (sp?),or even the pokemon project that i love so much - leadership was lost, and the projects went downhill (pokemon's down, but it's not out yet!). find someone who's going to put in the time, and you'll find a project that's really chugging along again. -

no, i couldn't record. i'll send in a bonus, but that's as good as it'll get. -
i'll actually have to bring a jacket this time. last time i wore a hoodie, and that was the extent of what i needed. it was frozen and below zero in buffalo, but it was like fall down in NC and VA.

news update: pixie is dumping andy the little white one for larry the big black sexiness. i love how not only was i the first view of that movie, but how tauce basically gives his flute a blowjob. i'm bringing: sax (selmer series three super balanced action alto saxophone, should i bring the soprano? depends on if it fits in my bag, i'll have other mouthpieces for other saxes as well) melodica (hohner soprano melodica) whistle (feadog high d) recorder? (pos from dime store) me w/ voice (pos from jesus)
