  1. I've been waiting for this song to get posted. Probably one of DarkeSword's best mixes, definitely my favorite mix of his. I love S&K's Hidden Palace Zone, and I've yet to hear a bad remix of it. I really need to get my hands on that saxophone sample, too. -DCT
  2. Like I said in the chat: sore throat + bad cell phone connection = bad conversation. -DCT
  3. Cool, now that I can listen to the show again, I can: Listen to Larry say, "Shut up DCT!" over and over again. Remind myself to call into the show this Saturday before any more stupid drunk bitches do. -DCT
  4. Imagine my surprise when I visited OCR for the first time in a couple weeks and saw this song on the front page. I remember BitMap plugging it in a WIP thread I started for my own Hydrocity Zone remix. I don't really have a problem with the sample quality, but if BitMap were to release an updated version, I would definitely love to hear it. -DCT
  5. Everytime I listen to this song, I am at a loss for words because this song is just that good, in my opinion. As was previously mentioned, this seems like a more laid back version of "London Drizzle," which is, by NO means, a bad thing. I can never get enough Cammy ReMixes, and this just adds to the collection of great ones. Good job mv. -DCT
  6. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. That's all you really need to say to describe Blue Reflection. From the fastastic arrangement to Starla's great singing (those are some pretty deep lyrics too), this is damn near perfect. I only have one real issue with this song, and that is that is sounds like it was reverbed a little too much. However, that's not enough to make me not love this. Get this song now. -DCT
  7. There was a time when I considered making an orchestral version of Super Mario World's Castle theme. What I started would not have in any way come close to this piece. Good stuff by Psychrophyte. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way is that extended pause at 2:34. Other that that, I am a real big fan of this mix. -DCT
  8. It's a Street Fighter 2 ReMix. It's a Guile ReMix. It's a Guile ReMix by Rayza. What else do you need to know? I think people who liked Rayza's Whirlwind mix will like this, since they sound kinda similar, in my opinion. Those chimes in the back (that take a little more prominence at about 1:28 and at the end) make this mix sound really special. So take the fact that Rayza has done another masterpiece, plus DCT's recommendation (DJP didn't do it, so I will ), and you've got a must-download. So download it. -DCT
  9. I could not agree more. I got this song a little while back from Mazedude's site, and my friends and I have been loving this mix. It's a really laid back piece and that's (almost) always a good thing. I have even used this mix as inspiration for one of my own songs...but of course, I'm no Mazedude. Bottom line: download this. Now. You're only hurting yourself if you don't. -DCT
  10. I can't believe it's taken me so long to review this. A while ago, probably a a week or two before this song was posted, I was talking to McVaffe on AIM when he sends me a link to a "secret new remix." That remix turned out to be Crystalline Caverns. I was reluctant to download it, having never played Yoshi's Island, but the mere fact that McVaffe himself sent me the link made me do it. As a music lover, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. This song is amazing. This is the epitome of Overclocked ReMix. I can use a whole lot of adjectives to describe this, but none of them would come close to how this really is. Long story short: download this song right now - you will not regret it. -DCT
  11. There's nothing I can say about this mix that hasn't already been said. In my opinion it's one of the best songs on this site, and djpretzel is a musical genius for taking the best song on the Mario 64 soundtrack and making it even better. If you haven't downlaoded this song yet, you better have just found out about OCR yesterday or something. In any case, if you don't have it, GET IT NOW! -DCT
  12. Another fantastic submission from my friend Ryu7x. This song has a special place in my heart because it is the song that got me into video game music. I definitely must say he certainly did the song justice, and the voice samples were a very nice touch, along with a very unique ending. Good job Ryu7x!! -DCT
  13. I'm gonna have to list this song as my personal favorite ReMix. Not only because it's a remix from my favorite game, not just becaus McVaffe is my Strong Island homey , but because Vega's Ballad has a feel to it that draws me in and makes the outside world stop whenever the song is playing. I also find it very creative on McV's part to take a Latin-themed song like Vega's and change it up into a fantastic R&B piece with some kick-ass piano playing. Needless to say, this gets my personal stamp of approval, so go download it. -DCT
  14. HOLY SH*T! This mix is great! I, like I'm sure a lot of people did, was expecting something slower based on the beginning, but then PxFury switched it up into a helluva techno piece. Now I'm not to big on techno, but I am big on Sonic and I know what I like, and I LOVE this! Good stuff, PxFury!
  15. Being that I'm from Jamaica, I've always had a bit of a bias towards Dee Jay's theme. This didn't really capture the reggae feel of the original, but rather a latin-type of piece. That's not a bad thing; after all that's the whole point of OC ReMix. I've also used this song as inspiration for a Dee Jay mix of my own without trying to copy this song. But this isn't about me, this is about a hell of a song that you should get your hands on. -DCT
