  1. If you get the ecco the dolphin games you might want to try the genesus version instead, the cd versions have a new level or two that don't particularly add much, and the soundtracks are replaced by mostly ambient junk. (Nothing against ambient, but most the music in the cd versions was...bad).

That's just me though...sometimes the music can break a good game for me...

Ecco games are probably amoung my fav of all time though, they were very different and challengeing for their time, and probably still are now to a certain point, or atleast for people that don't know the ins and outs of the game.

    Oh yeah, for the GBA

Golden Sun, only the first one though, the second one didn't really hold up to the original I thought....

  2. I don't really like the flute solo, normaly I don't care about out of tunedness if it fits the song, but the intonation and fingering is very sloppy here and feels more like a giant mistake, it hinders the song more than it helps.

However once things get going after the intro it isn't quite so bad, and the lack of tuneing between the instruments seems to give it a better (more organic?) feel than if the tuneing had been perfect.

Overal I like it, its kindof short, and I wouldn't really say its a direct cover of the original either. A pretty good arrangement though, baring the flute solo anyway...

Edit: Oh yeah, since people are mentioning it, the problem with the flute solo has little to do with recording ability if you ask me, its the musician playing it that is weak, the solo would be good if it had been executed a bit more skillfully. Because really...that little bit should not be difficult for a moderate level middle school/highschool student to play.

  3. in all fairness, we really didn't start global warming. infact we arn't even the main contributor. that being said, we do play apart in it so if we could run things a little better by not wasting energy or trying not to polute so much, that would be great.

I thought that while there is some natural emmsions from things like bio dregradeing and animals passing gas, humans were contributeing a vast amount to why the planets tempurature is going up, sooner than is normal for the planets actual cycle.

I think the point is that the earth naturaly cycles through hot and cold times, but we're causeing it to enter the hot part alot faster and sooner than is normal, so its not really giveing the environment a chance to adapt.

  4. DKR, however, left me with a very nasty taste in my mouth. I was expecting it to be like Mario Kart with a story mode, but the game play was shallow and the multiplayer left lots to be desired. Granted, I automatically compare it to Mario Kart 64, which is the best multiplayer racing game on N64. It's not fair to hold that comparison, so the game is probably much better than I'm willing to admit.

I can't remember the tracks as much, except that the coin challenges were kind of irritateing, but I remember enjoying the VS mode of DKR more than MK64. Atleast when playing with live people. (Never played with the npc's in dkr)

I actualy liked how it incoorporated different vehicals, the flying levels were fun, the boss battles. And I recal enjoying the space levels quite a bit. (particularly space port alpha for some reason...maybe I just liked the music... or something) Maybe I'm just weird....

  5. .....

    .....

    .....

That, my friends, is what we in the business like to call an "arrangement". Good day.

    |GX

Ehem... from DJP in the "Info" page.

The word "ReMix" was chosen but is not necessarily appropriate, as the tracks here are more re-arrangements than remixes (think of this as the difference between a "remix" and a "ReMix," mmmkay?).

That said, I thought it was interesting-ish...sortof...kindof short and it doesn't really do a huge amount or rearranging. (Although it's definitly there)

  6. I don't really remember the characters from Voyager at all, (except for 7 and the doctor). Well I do, but only vaguely. I enjoyed it for the weird stories, really....cause there was some weird stuff, but it didn't seem overly out there either. Which brings me to DS9

I wasn't too partiual to DS9 for whatever reason, I guess I just didn't appreciate the soap opera in space feel of it, some of what was going on in it didn't seem to fit within the star trek universe either, I'm not too nit picky about stuff like that, but some elements just seemed extremely out of place to me.

Next Generation was cool, although something about it struck me as incredibly cheesy/stiff at times. But it was probably the most diverse in terms of the kinds of eppisodes it had, some were seriouse, some were silly, some were full of drama, some went off into holo-room shenanigans that had nothing to do with the actual plot. So it was fun.

No comment on many of the other star treks, as those three above are the only ones I have any real experience with.

  7. When you inflate you have to stop a moment then start blowing again (unless you already blew them all up). But yeah, just keep blowing a nice consistent stream of air over the mic and it should work. (The flute example someone else gave is a very good one actualy)

  8. Anyway, I'm still playing some more Mystery Dungeon. I wish they'd program the pokemon to be smarter. If your out of PP, don't try to use that move! If the enemy is already asleep/leech seeded/paralyzed/etc, then don't try that move again!

Find gummies and give them to your pokemon it'll increase their IQ and sometimes they learn a new IQ ability, thers abilities that can check for status effects or ammount of PP (actualy I'm sure you already have PP checker or its one of the first abilities you'll get from a gummy). There's many other IQ abitlities too, I've recently gotten one that makes the pokemon dodge more often.

  9. has anyone played pokemon mystery dungeon?

I got it recently (the blue one for DS), and it's a pretty good game so far. Just imagine nethack with multiple dungeons instead of 1 and pokemon rules instead of the AD&D rules, and more of a story then "get to the end of this dungeon for a powerfull artifact". If you've never played nethack, you move a character around on a square grid, for every action you take any enemies on that floor also move or attack. In mystery dungeon you can also attack and move at diagnols. (Which can't be done in nethack if I remember correctly).

Fighting involves either a generic attack, throwing stuff, or doing pokemon attacks. You can also link pokemon moves so you can do two in one turn, so you could link tail whip and tackle together and do them both in one turn, instead of doing tail whip one turn then tackle the next. A max of 3 partners can be brought into the dungeon, but it'll probably be a while before you have more than just two. You also have some control over their "AI" which can be increased by giveing them gummies. (Sometimes gummies will increase their base stats too, if its a gummy color they like).

The graphics are pretty cute, most of the music is very short, less that a minute, but its catchy enough.

Control wise if you get the ds version it's easier to play with the buttons rather than the stylus.

And uh...the story is interesting, proceeds a bit slowly. I've gotten just over 8 hours into the game so far and only 2-ish major events for the story have happened.

I'm rather enjoying the game, although I'm unsure if obssesive levels of play are as good as just playing in small spurts of 30min-two hours. It IS a dungeon crawl game by nature, and would probably get a bit monotonouse if you play too long.

That said, I do get urges to play it when I'm doing other things, much like when I am reading a good book, but can't read it at the moment. I haven't genuinely felt that way about a game in quite a while. So it's a good game in my book. I was very scheptical about it at first, but it seems to have been worth it to buy.

Edit: Oh yeah, and if you find you are stuck in a dungeon that is too tough to survive and you don't have an escape orb. You can chose to "give up" and send a help mail to a friend. They can then go into the dungeon and rescue you. The thing about the dungeons is that once you go into them you cant get out unless you finish a mission or get to the last floor. If you faint you lose half of your items and all of your money (always keep some money in the bank). So the "friend help" option can potentualy be very helpfull.

This works for both versions, but I don't actualy know how it works. I think it uses passwords or something like that.

  10. Ooh this is nice and chopinesc, very pretty. I never heard the "awkward" chords in it though, my ear is fairly good so I dunno why I can't hear it, maybe just not expecting it to go a certain way. I heard *something* with the first listen that sounded a bit off but the next 5 listens I couldn't figure out where it was cause I wasn't hearing it anymore.

It'd be cool if you took it further and put more dynamics and maybe even tempo changes throughout it (since it already has a chopin feel to it)Maybe explore the theme a bit and change up the background motive or atleast let it evolve some.

For the tempo and length, this song feels very short, I hope you'll be adding more to it. (And if you do the version with lyrics I hope you post a lyrics version and a non lyrics one too :P)

Oh yeah, one thing not related to the song directly; you may want to make the recording louder (not dynamicly louder though).
