  1. That is odd that there is a lot of Wolverine and Deadpool online when they hardly show up in higher level play. They aren't evem broken characters. And I am surprised there is a lack of Thor. There is plenty of early established Thor tech that is devastating and his health is second to only Sentinel... in theory he is a good pick overall. But I suppose people don't like the fact that his beam projectile has the slowest start up. That isn't what he's for though.
  2. What's beautiful was seeing JWong getting near perfects on the guys relying on Sentinel and Dark Phoenix gimmicks.
  3. OMG. Justin Wong blowing it up at GVN Winter Brawl 5 Finals. With She-Hulk.
  4. Akuma has low health and average range but above average damage output I'm not seeing the pro easy mode compared to a whole grip of other characters nobody's bothered to mention yet.
  5. GG to Derrit and Sindra! I see other people online. Let's fight! Even if I beat a bunch of you guys soundly, you guys have me on the edge of my seat. Fun times!
  6. lmao Akuma stopping Dark Phoenix is not game breaking. That's just smart. Knowing your characters, knowing your opponent's characters, and playing smart is just the way to win.
  7. Despite how fast Raging Demon is you can jump out of it if you are more than a decent sweep range away from it.
  8. Yea I've been in grad school for a bit now, but I am going slow as a snail because I got the Academy of Art in SF and that's a private school so I'm basically paying out-of-state university type tuition. Out of my own pocket no less. I better get back at it though. Gotta spend like 20 hours on this still life drawing so I can justify hopping on LIVE and stomping people at night.
  9. Whenever I'm not doing grad school homework. Typically I play in the evenings.
  10. I am trying to think of a way to implement counter-exchange into my strategy but I find it hard to justify burning a whole meter for it.
  11. Just got my revenge on Derrit for when I first started playing online. GG man. You're hard to poke.
  12. You made me learn a lot more about Hulk in the lab. I went on ranked matches and just took a 15 game win streak on PSN woooooo. I find it odd I am going back and forth between consoles just to play the same game lmao I added a bunch of you to my list just now ( NOBODY ADDED ME TO BEGIN WITH D: ) so we should playyyyyyy
  13. I just did and it's kinda frustrating. But it's still good practice if you have nobody.
  14. The Very Hard difficulty AI in this game is harder than 99% of anyone I've played so far. Just saying. The AI on this setting is inhumanly technical. Hard, right below Very Hard, is way too easy though.
  15. Then why are the same top players of the Vs. series still the best in MvC 3 now by far? The same MvC 2 greats are still stomping on everyone not so great. Different game but it's still pretty easy to discern who has real skill if you actually understand the game on a deeper level beyond the fundamentals.
  16. Yea going beyond the basics puts you a leg up on the competition by far but I'm going to say that I think they need to scale back the damage a bit because going beyond the basics is close to wiping out any given life bar. The basics do enough damage as it is.
  17. I know a lot of people here like remix contests so I'm going to put this here for those that might want to participate. J-Wave Radio in Japan is holding a remix contest using the song "SPIDER SOUNDS" by agehasprings. The winner will get to remix a new song by the Genki Rockets. For those that don't know, Genki Rockets made their debut with their song "Heavenly Star" written for Lumines 2 on the PSP. It was also featured in Lumines Live! in the SOS Charity Pack on the Xbox Live Marketplace and also in No More Heroes for the Wii as background music in the shops. Currently they are producing new music in collaboration with Sony's "make.believe" marketing campaign and reworks of their currently existing songs will be featured in the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade / Playstation Network game "Child of Eden". The original "SPIDER SOUNDS" can be heard at www.ageha.net as the song that streams when the page fully loads. Rules of the remix contest can be found at http://www.genkirockets.com/en/news/ and the vocal assets can be found at http://www.myspace.com/spider-remix I know the Genki Rockets aren't everyone's cup of tea but their origins are definitely rooted in video game music so it's quite relevant to this place. I hope some people here participate!
  18. Going from character to character might not leave the ones you are best with as fresh in your memory but playing enough and you eventually can be good with a lot of characters. It's the long term consistent playing and challenging yourself that will make you good in the end. Asshole or not, he's still one of the smartest fighting game players on this side of the world.
  19. The secret to beating BardicKnowledge is to dash in and slap him with a light attack just as the time runs out.
  20. Yea that's a disc scratch if I ever saw one. In other news, the stuff my friend and I got posted about Jill and Shuma is all over the place and it's has brought about so much stupidity. I can hardly believe it.
  21. If I wanted to tweak this game a bit it would be something like this. Sentinel laser spit would not chip unless it required more than one button to execute or if it was slower on start up. Sentinel's health should be above Phoenix but less than the health tier above. Oh the times I can remember watching the X-Men cartoon and seeing Wolverine just jump on a Sentinel to cut a few wires and be done with it. To have almost the highest damage and the MOST health is kinda overkill. X-Factor chipping reduced to about 75-80% of what it currently is. X-Factor damage on contact is fine. Just my opinion. There's plenty of other stupid stuff but it is at least fun as hell. ShadowBlade, I have Special Edition on 360 and Standard Edition on PS3, neither which I have problems with. Might have been a bad cut from Capcom's pressing.
  22. Sentinel with level 3 X-Factor demolishes everything. Without X-Factor, laser spit is faster than it was in MvC 2 (it was fast already), and now it does considerable chip. When X-Factor is activated, it gets even faster and can chip an entire team pretty much before X-Factor is over. Not impossible but it's sometimes demoralizing when one lone Sentinel can destroy a team pretty much as quick as an X-Factored Phoenix but has like three times as much health.
