  1. UPDATE GET! *new vocoder... mucho fuller sounding... synth solo part fixed. Bad news, intro still sounds like shit... it goes no where, but i haven't even begun work a proper on it, so it'll be the next thing I work on Still missing stuff, but it's getting there!
  2. I'm not familiar with the original soundtrack, but this mash up is awesome... I can't tell you how much I've listened to this the last couple of days. Many times My only criticism is that I want more NOW... ...such a tease...
  3. Right ON! Probably my most favouritest-est-est remix ever in the history of ever... along with Homard's/Homer Simpson's "Fists of Alloy". Halls of Abandonment also happens to be infinitely superior to the source tune in every way (and I'm a BIG fan of Alisia Dragoon and the OST). Edit: Also mutagene's Shadow of the Beast remixes are absolutely divine... especially the remix for the second game.
  4. you're lucky to even get tour dates, haha... I think they're chances of Kamelot ever coming out to Australia are pretty damn slim...
  5. Yeah, completely true. Ghost Opera was awesome.. faves of mine off that are Rule the World, The Human Stain and Blucher. Yeah, I have the On A Cold Winters Night DVD... his voice... geez! When they performed Elizabeth i, ii & iii, I was practically speechless... and also maybe a little teary...
  6. I completely second that. They are indeed my fave band too. Also, Roy Kahn has an amazing, amazing voice, which really sets them apart from everyone else.
  7. O. M. G. I WANT THAT REMIX!!!!!!!!!!! That's like the best thing I've ever seen edit. EQ life bars... beyond cool
  8. man, I WISH edit: Lemme know how it went... sounded reaaaal awesome from what you were telling me. That 'I Know' song is brill, btw
  9. Awww, I used to love that song way back when haha Thanks for the comments ppls I'm gonna work on the panning.... whn I get the guitar bits in there, i'll be able to shuffle things around a bit. Thanks again
  10. Updated the WIP... check the first post for linkage !!! Intro has been fleshed out a little and I've played a little with the levels of the hi-hats, they were too high before. Also fattened the synth brass a bit and changed it around a bit to fit in more.
  11. <<<< [WIP-1 with DUMMY VOCALS] In the interest of those looking for an idea of what the vocals will be like, I've knocked up a version with some dummy vocals I've just recorded. (and again, I wanna stress, I'm looking for a vocalist for this song... someone who is comfortable with the style.) Lyrically it's cheese, but i really don't think deeper lyrics would really sit with the overall style. So yeah, there's dummy vox in there now. They are absolutely nothing flash and very basic; it was literally a 5 min job. I've repeated the first verse for the second verse at the moment, as I haven't written the second verse yet. Lyrics are as follows: VERSE 1: Turn around I have never seen you before, But I'd like to get to know you some more. You're straight out of a fantasy I can feel the heat between us (you're the one that I see right now) let me tell you something Move a little bit closer and just rock with me oh yeah (you're the one that I need right now) this time I know it's for real. Together we can blow this night away. CHORUS: I've got my head in the clouds I'm jumping around You're love's got me tumbling upside down. Nobody can do, the things that you do I've made the change And it all comes back to you .
  12. Yeah, Stock, Aiken Waterman produced him ... That's the style I'm trying to nail hahaha! So, I guess that's mission accomplished then :D
  13. Thanks man :D Disco has a very special place in my heart haha... especially this style! Thanks for your comments man... much appreciated!
  14. Hiya Peoples!!! <<< WIP 4 (4/7/08) http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/n64/wvpoints.mid <<<<<<< SOURCE TUNE *I'm looking for a vocalist for this one... someone who feels comfortable with the disco style... gender doesn't matter. Must have access to decent voice recording equipment This is something I started working on today.... It's a remix of the tunes that play when you finish a race ... there are 4 variations of the one musical motif for each place... I plan to incorporate all 4 into this remix eventually. It's in a style that is close to my heart... it's very Italo-Disco, via the brits, circa 1987-ish. My favourite pop music machine, the british Stock Aiken and Waterman pioneered this take on the Euro-disco music scene, and I've always loved it cheesiness and driving mid-tempo rhythms. Anyway, so here's my first WIP !!! I'm still in the process of writing lyrics, but I can say they will be pretty cheesy and generic .. The synth that comes in at 1:06 in the chorus is playing the lead melody I'd like for the vocal, just for a rough idea. It's a bit repetitive at the moment, but one there's vocals in there, it'll sound way better. Not to mention when I incorporate the other themes into it. The intro sucks and is very basic... this *WILL* change. It's Intro-Chorus-Verse1-Chorus-Verse2-Chorus-Perc Sect at the moment. Not the final order, so things will change.. As I said, I only started on this today. Enjoy, and I hope to hear from any potential collaborators soon!!! -Robbie.
  15. I personally wouldn't do anything about the noises. It's vital part of the style. Keep them!!!
  16. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!! I have a major weakness for anything like this. All the clicks and pops & glitching really get me in a real good way... reminds me of Trentemoller & Imogen Heap. The arrangement is pretty light... but the source was never really that complex in the first place. However, the place to where you've taken the source really fits. No only does it sound fantastic, thematically it just sounds right. It sounds like NiGHTS, yet it's somehow different. The dream-like quality is amazing... this is going straight into my chill playlists I've got no complaints at all. Production wise this is hella-tight and everything sounds as it should. Awesome man... really, really liking this.
  17. <<< UPDATED VER. 3 !!! Well here's WIP 3!!! The focus of this revision to clean it up a bit. You'll now notice the higher registers are there, which were severely lacking in the previous WIP's. FIXED! Also added a vocoder behind all vocals to emphasise the parts and round it all out, as I don't have the strongest voice in the world. Still wanna add stuff... anything that sounds empty, I will probably fix in the next couple of days
  18. Hey thanks man! Yeah, that wasn't the real ending, that was just the end of the first WIP ... it's fixed now
  19. Here's the second version of the WIP... almost done... just really polishing this thing up is all that's left to do. Changes I still wanna make: *muck around with the lead at 3:24 *Smooth the transitions out a bit *play withthe ending up a bit Thanks for the comments peeps... glad to see that it's agreeing with yall Enjoy
  20. <<<<< WIP 9-ish~!!! ^^ MINI UPDATE ^^ SEE PAGE 3 FOR CHANGES EDIT: I suppose I should mention that this is a remix of Speed Highway - At Dawn from Sonic Adventure. Okies, so this is a new version of an oldie... well 2 oldies actually. I started this remix years ago and actually wrote lyrics, but never got around to recording them. Then I started a re-remix, and never got too far into it, but I did record the lyrics and miscellaneous versions of that WIP still exist on the interwebs. Now I've come back to the track with what really feels like the culmination of all those other versions. Still a WIP at the mo (duh), but this is the result of a couple of days work, so a finished version of the track could turn up real soon Might re-record the verses during the week, and still many things to add. Lemme know what you think... cheers -Robbie.
  21. Amazing dude... as per usual Love everything.. the piano especially. Loving the filtered house - Love love LOVE it. Keep me posted dude! Btw, I saw you're interview in Retro Gamer magazine... kinda trippy, but awesome:D
  22. Heeeey! ZOMG!!! SONIC R!!! Richard Jacques + TJ Davis x awesome 90's dancingesssszz = Sonic R OST!!! AkumajoBelmont feat. Stephanie - Work It (EuroHouse 'LoVE LOvE' Mixx) http://www.zshare.net/audio/26249372faba04/ Long time no speak/mix/WIP ppls This is my take of 'Work It Out', the BGM for Radical City. It's gonna be pure Euro-housey dancey stuff. My cousin Stephanie has provided the vocals this time around It's pretty basic at the moment, with only the most essential elements in there. Most of the vocals are in, there's not too much variation in the beat, many synths and pads missing, whole melodies not there, and the vocals for the key change are not there yet. The arrangement aspects are also a little low at the moment. But it's a start In other news, I should explain my absence. Work and life has sadly taken over most of my time. Less time equals less music. Plus I've spent the last year and a half trying to brush up on my actual mixing and mastering skills. So, yeah, thats out of the way Sooooo leave some feedback if you like the mix. As I'm quite busy these days, I don't know when the next update will be. But it shouldn't be too long away. Forgive the bare bones nature of the WIP, and lemme know what you think! Cheers guys and gals... -Robbie.
  23. Ahhh! THAT Daytona match... man, I was soooooooooo coming first!!!
  24. ... I will be coming!!! Put me down for a couple DS's and games (i'll get back to you with what one's I'm bringing). Maaaaybe I could bring my DC and a few games, if I've got a bag big enough to carry that much shite (and a back strong enough ). I'll bring a whole batch of VDV's (yeah. that's right) full o' spesh musical delights if I can be bothered creating some Oh, and on a related note, is anyone going to PLAY! ??? I'm going on Fri 22nd June. If any of ya'll are going, lemme know! Peas Out!
