  2. Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums but would love to share some of the work I've done with my group Becoming Elephants. It's got a musical vibe similar to some video game soundtracks like Castlevania/Mega Man/TMNT but also some modern sounds that draw influence from progressive rock, metal, and jazz fusion. It's all instrumental and our first album is a concept album. Hope you enjoy it! It's available in it's entirety for streaming on Soundcloud, YouTube, and Spotify. Thanks!
  3. Heya everyone! I used to do quite a bit of remxing around here, but it was back a couple of years ago so I figure a lot of people here don't know who I am; You may have heard these; http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01341 http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01304 In any case, I've since then started a band called Contemplator, and we just released a full-length album, "Sonance", mixed and mastered by Colin Marston of Gorguts/Krallice/Dysrhythmia. It's somewhere in the middle of Dream Theater, Opeth, more extreme metal like Gorguts, Martyr, and a serious dose of VG influences. Live violin and viola (and cello) on the album are courtesy of Jeff Ball, another OCRemixer you might've heard of! So yeah, come visit us on Facebook, go have a listen to the album on Bandcamp or Youtube! I'd love to have your feedback on the music too! If you're really curious about the composition/recording/production process for the album, we also produced a short making-of video with footage from the studio and some blurbs about how we made this thing. https://contemplator.bandcamp.com https://www.facebook.com/ContemplatorBand/

  6. This is an instrumental I wrote about 10 years ago that I decided to try and make a good mix out of after getting some new gear and recording equipment. Feedback is appreciated! Let me know how I could improve the recording.
  7. Here's my first full song. Nothing truely revolutionary, just pure instrumental goodness. Only guitar and sampled drums. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmNLfei2g38 Feedback is of course welcome and encouraged, I'm trying to grow, no matter how bitter it gets
  8. Hey all, As I hone my skills and work towards getting arrangements together that will meet the criteria of you fabulous contributors, I'd like to share a very small sampling of some of the work I've done so far, as well as offer my assistance in any collaborative effort you may find yourself needing help with As a disclaimer, I should state now that the following tracks being linked may contain language that is NSFW. Listen at your own discretion. Growing up, I was really into hip hop (I'd rather not talk about the state of the genre today), so I experimented early with sequencing and drum machines. My other passion, naturally, was video games, which you'll see have a strong presence in almost everything I've done thus far. It'll be quite clear to the good people at OC Remix that these works are not fit for submission as unique arrangements - most of the instrumentals featured are meant to have lyrics placed on top and, as such, don't change up terribly often. At any rate, I did want to share them with you all so you can A) get a good idea of what I'm about as a lyricist and see how I've used a video-game-centric childhood to drive my personal flavor of hip hop. Without further Ado: The Empire Strikes Back - A Musical Emergency *LOW QUALITY WARNING* In a very NSFW track, I play Han Solo, frustrated by his love scene being interrupted by C-3P0 Sound Cloud - Buster's Word: https://soundcloud.com/busters-word Tetris - Instrumental Hip Hop beat using Music C from NES Tetris Chrono Trigger - Instrumental, up-beat hip hop instrumental using Gato's Theme from Chrono Trigger Mercury [NSFW] - Full Hip Hop Track (Beat + Lyrics) utilizing a sample from the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie Of the Giants [NSFW] - Full Hip Hop Track (Beat + Lyrics) utilizing a sample from Kingdom Hearts (Destati) (can you point out all of the videogame references??) Ship Hold [NSFW] - Full Hip Hop Track (Beat + Lyrics) utilizing sample from the "Ship Hold" from the DKC2 OST (David Wise is my hero). Let me know what your thoughts are, and if I could be of help on any upcoming projects! And, stay tuned for more OC-Remix-centric work coming in the future. Can't wait to work with some of you! Cheers, -Taylor
  9. Something that I have felt and said for a long time now, is that a musician's music is essentially an audio snapshot of his/her emotion at the time of it's creation. This piece "Epitomizes" that ideal if you will (for me at least). I had been scouring the corners of my mind for quite some time for some reason to a situation that I had faced prior to make this piece. I vented out my frustration on the guitar one night and then I hit the "ah-ha" moment to my demons that had been tormenting me, thus the name "Epiphany". Pretty much sums up what that moment felt like in my soul at the time. http://tindeck.com/listen/ojdsb
  10. This is "Driving," it's a composition I wrote a couple of years ago and hadn't shared with many people. The music is largely just a result of experimenting with variations on an arpeggio I'd stumbled upon. I wanted to create a mood that would suite someone driving through a mountainous area alone at night. https://soundcloud.com/jeffmatthews/driving
