lazygecko Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 http://kotaku.com/367219/unreal-engine-4-targeting-consoles-not-pcs With the way things have been going for them lately, I suppose this means we won't even be getting any more Unreal games. They'll just be chunking out GoW sequels and license the engine to everyone and their dog. Quote
Neo Samus Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I guess they are not so "Epic" any more, huh? Quote
Bahamut Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 It says PCs will follow after them - which means that they'll get it, just later than sooner. Sales & profit margins on the consoles appear to be too much for Epic to avoid. Quote
Murmeli Walan Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I thought Super ZZT was the final nail in the coffin for the old Epic. Quote
Gollgagh Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I thought Super ZZT was the final nail in the coffin for the old Epic. Haaarrrrrr Quote
zircon Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Well, PC gaming is way less profitable than console gaming. All parties in the PC market continue to screw themselves with terrible business decision after terrible business decision, so it doesn't surprise me. Using my Xbox 360 is a breeze. The amount of shit I've had to deal with for the last month just to install new RAM and upgrade my graphics drivers, on the other hand, is unbelievable. If I had simply worked instead of spending all that time trying to get my PC simply NOT TO CRASH I could have bought a PS3 and several gaems. Quote
lazygecko Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 I wasn't really talking about the whole console vs. PC thing, but more about Epic and how much they've been changing lately. Been an Unreal fan since the first game and I can't help but die a little inside now. Quote
mr.wholesome Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 It would be cool if they remade the orignal Unreal or did a DX version or something. I loved the way you were on your own and left wondering where the hell you were. then OMG NALIs! "Q'PUDDAH!". Itll never happen though, not without hoards of grunty marines. Quote
Avatar of Justice Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Is Epic a public company? If so, they could be sued by their investors for NOT focusing on console games since GoW proved that the profits were much better. Quote
