Hey guys,

I'm looking into doing some piano music, but I'm having some trouble coming up with any decent sounding plugins or soundfonts.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

They can be free or payware. I just want to get some suggestions thrown out there.

Thanks!

Synthogy "Ivory" is a piano library considered to be one of the best out there. It's hundreds of dollars, however. For a little less, there's TruePianos (www.truepianos.com) which takes up MUCH less space, and sounds very good.

For free, you could look for the "Yamaha Clavinova" soundfont.

holy crap 50 gigs. No way I am getting that unless I get a new computer. And then again GVI is good enough for me.

You can choose to only use the piano that you need. I only use the Bosendorfer one (16 gigs or so), that's clearly enough for me.

I have problems with Tascam's. I always hear a thunk after some notes, I don't know if it's to simulate realizm or not, but I don't like it there and I don't know how to turn it off.

It's the hammer falling back into place. IMO, it improves the sound dramatically, and the effects can be lessened by pedaling like you would on an actual piano.
