Nutritious
I just picked up the current issue of Computer Music magazine after seeing what was on the included CD - over 100 free plugins. Including Synths, Drums, Samplers, Amp Sims, Sequencers, Effects, etc. They also give some explanations and a few guides to using them. Granted, some of these are available for download online, which I already had. In general, though, it seems to be a pretty cool deal - and much more useful than the usual samples included with the magazine. Check it out. Skummel Maske
Sounds nice, I hope I can find an import somewhere.
Zephyr
I've known about this for a while, but haven't been able to find a copy of the magazine in Canada, I don't really want to subscribe either, so I guess I'm stuck. I'll just find a bunch of sweet free stuff on KVR to help ease my depression...
abg
The CM magazine can be a great value considering what you'll get on the included DVDs. Apparently one of the synths you can get with it right now is the Genesis CM. I'm only pointing this out because this synth is the bomb. Here's a legal link to download the free, non-CM version of this synth: http://www.ozcan.gethost.nl/sdownloads.html I've seen and used a lot of free vsts, but this one takes the cake! The Vagrance
Just out of curiosity, what plug-ins are included? Ones that can't be downloaded for free/at all, specifically.
Legion303
I had a subscription until the U.S. distributor screwed me and then stopped replying to emails. Note that the magazine doesn't come with a mere CD, but a full dual-layer DVD with every issue. -steve

Zephyr
Wow, gotta get me one of those magazines... I downloaded Genesis as well, and I haven't had time to mess with it much but so far, judging from the presets it's amazing.

Zephyr
... Genesis has great sounds, but for some reason it doesn't run properly for me, it spikes my under-runs like crazy and causes tons of crackles and pops when I use transport controls. Meteo Xavier
So how much does the magazine cost for an issue, then? I'm sure these things don't come cheap.
Yoozer
You don't have to assume: http://www.computermusic.co.uk/page/computermusic?entry=subscribe_to_computer_music 3 months = $30. Single issue in a store is most likely around $15.

Better call ahead and find out, though, cause availability seems to be hit and miss.
