Battle With Magus/Confusing Melody

Started on this one today. Just getting to the main melody, but didn't have enough time to push further:

Yeah, I know this OST's been overdone. I was actually working on a different song when the Magus theme popped in my head. Hopefully I'll have time to progress it further at some point.

You probably already know what you need to tweak and fix. I'd take that high string down in volume quite a bit. Its leading but its also pretty loud. The beginning's a bit empty too until Magus comes in. Reverbed harps maybe?

The sustained note in the intro reminded me a bit of Darude's Sandstorm. Then the whole track went orchestral. Then it had drums. Gotta agree with Meteo on how empty it sounds, tho I have less of a problem with the intro and more with 00:47 and forth. It's a little hard to critique something this short and early.
