justinj212
Hello all, I host a VGM radio show on UMD's public radio station WMUC. I need your suggestions to help me fill my weekly 2-hour time slot. It can be from any video game, just as long as it was written for that game (though I have occasionally delved into licensed soundtracks). Just need to know what games you would like to hear played on the show. PS- see the links in my sig to listen to the show and subscribe to my podcast! Drack
Arrangements, covers, remixes, or original soundtracks? Here are some good OSTs in my opinion, and in no particular order: Castlevania series Okami Mega Man series Ace Attorney series F-Zero series (GX/AX in particular) Metroid series Skies of Arcadia Sonic series, genesis era Donkey Kong Country series (Aquatic and factory themes from DKC1, just about anything from DKC 2, some good 6/8 meter songs in there) Chrono Trigger Beyond Good and Evil Final Fantasy series Guilty Gear XX There are tons more I could list. Just look at what songs have been remixed on this site: Well represented games tend to have good OSTs.
richter
http://www.last.fm/music/Falcom+Sound+Team+JDK There's just so much good stuff from Ys. Dozens of remixes done by I think the same guys who composed the soundtracks. So good!
jaxx
Guilty Gear X "hard rock tracks"
mousemuffins
Get Equipped by The Megas is a great MM2 soundtrack. I also like the original music in the Spyro the Dragon trilogy; 2 and 3 admittedly have mostly better music. If nothing else, the song from Scorch's Pit is awesome. The American Album and the Cave Story Remix Project have some great stuff. So do Hedgehog Heaven and Video Games Live. "The Device Has Been Modified" by Victims of Science is interesting also. justinj212
Thanks for the suggestions. Keep them coming! I really need anything you could think of. Arrangements, covers, remixes, or original soundtracks? All of the above, as long as the arrangements, covers, and remixes are of original VGM. Sorry I didn't make that clear
The Coop
Here are a few titles that might get overlooked for potential airtime... -=Genesis=- Thunder Force III Thunder Force IV Whip Rush Streets of Rage TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist Castlevania: Bloodlines Elemental Master Ghouls 'N Ghosts M.U.S.H.A. Master of Monsters Super Fantasy Zone -=Sega CD=- Soul Star Lords of Thunder Stellar Fire -=Some other individual tunes=- "Flood of Power" from Midnight Resistance (Genesis) "The Habam" from Red Zone (Genesis) "Ending theme" from Batman (Genesis) "Last City" from Sword of Vermillion (Genesis) "Staff Roll" from Phantasy Star IV (Genesis) "Prarie" from Devilish (Genesis) "Take It Easy" from Herzog Zwei (Genesis) "Back To Square One" from Herzog Zwei I'd also add Shadow of the Beast and the Turrican games on the Amiga. Great soundtracks there. You can find the Genesis tunes on Project2612.org (use WinAmp + ChipAmp to either play them, or export them to MP3 if you wish), and the Amiga tunes can be found on Amigamusic.com in MP3 format, or on www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/UnExoticA in a different format that needs something like Deliplayer 2 (which retains the stereo of the original Amiga tunes, unlike what's on Amiga Music). And finally... http://thecoop.110mb.com/remixes.html ... some remixes I've made. They range from piano solo, to 80s/early-90s electronica, all done in Music Creator. Yeah, self pimping isn't always looked fondly upon, but ain't no one else gonna pimp them
