VictorDamazio
How about making country music remixes? Maybe we could do even a country album. We could use country instruments, like banjo, fiddle, harmonica, acoustic guitar... But please, only musics that the original were country music. F4T4L
i'd personally rather see songs totally void of any country/western origins get a country/western facelift. one song that always struck me as a Wild West horse-riding cowboy into the sunset song was the Dark World theme from Zelda3. Kizyr
Definitely in agreement. I'd love to see at least a few classic country-style remixes here. Lyrics would be a plus. Some of the tracks from Wild Arms 1-3 would lend themselves to country/western. I could see any of the following remade that way: WA - Into the Wilderness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHcrjkrOWLM WA2 - The Barren Lands http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2P4B_1qD3oQ WA2 - The Town to the West WA3 - A Person's Warmth WA3 - Advanced Desert (could also do Southern Rock for this one) WA3 - Bad Guys and Bad Land Sorry, can't find links for sources for a few of them. glasfen
Definitely in agreement. I'd love to see at least a few classic country-style remixes here. Lyrics would be a plus. I've actually got a country project I'm about to start, with lyrics. Hopefully I'll have something in the WIP section shortly. The source is Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility. For some reason, the House music (below) struck me as very mixable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrWcIU2_9EY

Yes, I forgot Harvest Moon, there are lots of music from this series. But If you want, you should try some of these music I posted in the first post, It would be cool to make a country album with music from many games, and Harvest Moon could be there. Now that you mention it, that'd be another great source (particularly the one track you linked). I'll try not to overlook it if you put up a WIP version. Lie Mf B
I love country music and I think it's a great idea. In fact, I've already done one country-style remix, of the Amazon tune from Duck Tales (NES). You can download it here, complete with acoustic guitar, Dobro and (soundfont) fiddle. Another country-tinged game soundtrack is Gunsmoke.

Though I think there's more room for flexibility--it sticks fairly close to the source tune. I could see this turned into a bluegrass theme, too (which isn't a bad thing--I wouldn't mind seeing some bluegrass remixes either). Ahhh, did this one a long time ago - http://www.vurez.com/tracks/arrangements/Vurez_-_Silver_Setting_Sun.mp3Also, another track (Clash at Demonhead) in a similar style - http://www.vurez.com/tracks/arrangements/Vurez_-_Ride_to_Demonhead.mp3 Oh these two are great. Very reminiscent of New Mexican Thunderbird (one of my favorite tracks on BotA, by the way). They sound more Western than Country, but I'm not the kind who really cares about genre distinctions. suzumebachi
But please, only musics that the original were country music. way to completely take the fun out of it. why does it matter what 'style' the original songs were in? a melody is a melody is a melody. Vurez
Thank you, why this isn't at OCRemix? I never submitted them. I felt the mixing quality was probably too low for OCRemix standards. I'm missing some of the assets so remastering them would be quite a bit of work and I have other things to work on.
