V-Jolt
hey guys, I'm a huge fan of the Simcity 3000 OST, especially the upbeat jazzy tracks like Central Park Sunday, Updown Town and South Bridge. I love the jazz double bass, trumpet and piano work in these songs. Does anyone know of any artists that have similar sounds to these songs? If you don't know what I'm talking about, EA has the entire soundtrack available for download on their website. Hoping for other Jazz-fans out there to know! - V-Jolt

Liontamer
Yes, he could have googled it, but you know, there's no need to be a dick when people are trying to find interesting VGM; help a brother out. http://simcity.ea.com/coolstuff/sc3k_music/index.php http://vgmdb.net/album/5385 Follow our Twitter feed; I pimp a new, legally free VGM album every Friday. We had goat last week, and I've pimped SimCity 4: Rush Hour in the past. As far as the original post, I wish I could help, as I wish more VGM jazz was hitting me, but jazz is definitely a popular genre within VGM arrange albums. SimCity 3000's has numbers that belong in a club; good stuff. I loved "The Wind and the Earth" off Genso Suikoden III Music Collection ~Rustling of the Wind~: http://vgmdb.net/album/676 CHz could possibly rattle off a bunch of stuff. po!
yea i was lazy.. Central Park Sunday sounds like a mashup between Take Five and Watermelon Man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwNrmYRiX_o http://www.amazon.com/Cantaloupe-Island-Herbie-Hancock/dp/B000005GXT -- listen to Watermelon Man.. and the whole album too overall, it seems what you're looking for is "straight ahead jazz." check out a lot of jazz from the 1940's through 60's... there's way too many artists to name
KyleJCrb
I think most all of the Sim games after SimCity 3000 have soundtracks like this: SimCity 4, The Sims, Sims 2, whatever other ones are out... There's also this, which remixes the SimCity 2000 soundtrack into a similar jazz style. It's a very good album, (especially since I'm a sucker for SC2K's music) provided you can track it down. V-Jolt
thanks guys! I'm not really looking for remixes, rather real jazz artists whos work sounds similar in style and tempo to the songs I mentioned.
