analoq
*downloads sparkster spc* this track really isn't much of an improvement over the original (that theme is quite catchy though). it is a mess in regards to the mix itself. very ugly sounding at times. not ocr material. no
Protricity
I'm a big fan of CJ's ocremixes, but this one let me down. Processing is good, execution is interesting. Can't say I've heard stuff like this before really, but then yea, its pretty close to the original, repetitive, and completely lacking in the unique way Jeff used to kick ass. Cool, but not cool enough. NO
GrayLightning
Someone explain to me how campy chipmunk sounding phrases work as an intro to a synth orchestra mix? Once in the intro is done with the main part of the mix sounds cool. I like the classic sounds with the 80s sounding synth brass. Ending is very abrupt too. Pretty catchy, I'm slightly borderline on this. But this just isn't on the level it needs to be on a compositional, production and unique scale for it to get posted. Disco Dan
I'm gonna have to agree pretty much completely with GrayLightning. Because my life depends on it. He said if I don't that he'd kill me. He may anyway now that I've said this. Maybe I should delete what I just wrote. Ok, as soon as I'm done with this post I gotta remember to go back and delete this part. Anyway, GL pretty much summed it up. The intro and the part in the middle with the bizarre voices is pretty weird and unenjoyable, though the rest is fairly nice. Though it seems a bit over compressed and maximized. I'm also pretty torn on this one as it seems to be an overall enjoyable track. It seems to improve a bit more than marginally over the original though, so I don't think I can say no on this one. Then again, I haven't judged in a while so maybe that's my excuse. Either way, it's borderline, but: YES D
DarkeSword
I'm probably one of the biggest Rocket Knight fans out there, so I was hoping this remix would rock my socks; unfortunately, I'm going to side with the majority on this one. This piece isn't really much of an improvement over the original; not much changes from section to section aside from the melody. It's also filling up my ears, but not in a good way. Sounds over compressed. As much as I'd love to see a Sparkster remix on OCR (especially of this track), I'm gonna have to give this a NO.
