*NO* Chrono Trigger 'Holiday at the Ocean Palace'

Hello,

This is my first submission to oc remix, so i hope you like it.

It's a nice slow version of the ocean palace theme from chrono trigger.

I was hoping to do some more of the tune, but i didn't think i could do the key change without spoiling it.

Anyway, im The Snee, i've been using the site for years, so i thought id give something back.

Tell me if i got anything wrong.

Yea, its slow alright. Lots of string layers. Mediocre bass, lame lead. Very short. Doesn't go into the second part of the original at all. No variation.

Nice try, but go for something thats twice as long as far more interesting.

ugh, that took 45 minutes to download. get a better server. synth bass is ok.

lots of monotony here, lacks tension, escalation and anything of interest. too much reverb.

I'm in agreement with the others. The arrangement is pretty lackluster. Hardly any highs and lows, and there's much too much reverb on that kick drum.

The strings and the kickdrum 'verb are filling up the space in a bad, muffely kind of way.

Work on arrangement and variation, as well as balance between your sounds.

I actually like this, but the ridiculous amount of reverb is way too much. There's a difference between making a large soundscape and drowning something in it. Slightly more highs and lows on this would make this much better as well, as pointed out by darke. There's a lot of potential here that you could expand on and lengthen.
