odber
fast play, hard - 2h5m Scratch that previous one. Just did a new record time for me. Got to try and find something to record on if I ever come near this one. Oh yeah, done on an actual SNES. any%, hard 1h35m
Ajax
Hey, I dont want this thread on page two! Also, I did a new Normal Any% run, and got 1:21. No video though, because my ZSNES smv desynced. I think I'm just going to do a console run anyway, despite how bad my capture card is.
Invader_Quirk
First speed run attempt: 2:07. That's 51% (I went to a lot of bonus levels by habit >.<). I'm going to try again later... EDIT: New time is 1:42. I was making great time until Krazy Kremland, where I began to suck uncharacteristically. How frustrating...
Invader_Quirk
Played through again. Normal straight run-through. 1:18. There are lots of ways I can cut this time down. I have the utmost confidence that this game can be beaten in an hour.
Invader_Quirk
New time is 1:07. Sorry for the triple post- I don't want this thread pushed onto the next page.
Sir_Downunder
About to attempt a straight through speed run right now. Possibly will post results after I finish. EDIT: Just completed my speedrun: With a time of 2:13 with 49% completed Probably would of finish just under two hours if I didn't keep dying... Spoool
I was thinking about starting up the speedrun competition that unmod had going on probably in 2006 or so again. This feels like a good place to interest mill, it being a speedrun thread and all. Basically the idea is it's a simple weekly pissing contest, we start off with a game, DKC for instance, and we just run the game, cart or emulator doesn't really matter, I just ask that nobody would play through tool assisted cause that's just stupid. The thread will limit every player to 3 practice runs and a legit timer run, and we'll just use the trust system to post results. The winner of each week gets to pick the next game, but they can't compete in the game that they select, they can however post their record time for bragging rights. So yeah the easiest way to circumvent cheating is to have no real reward other than picking the next week's game that you can't even compete in. Rules for game selection are fairly simple, something no longer than an hour or two tops, and not too hard or terrible. Anyone think this is a good idea? I love the idea, and that "reward/stop people from lying" idea is pretty cool too. So if it happens, I'm in (if I have the game we start on, that is.) Invader_Quirk
I'd do it. I'm glad we'd just be trusting each other because I have no way to get a video of it. Best I can do is take a picture of my file.
