Protricity Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 Note for note with original + clippy drums, and minimalist synths. Most likely a rip. NO Its totally not orchestra.
Liontamer Posted August 19, 2004 Posted August 19, 2004 In case anyone needs it, http://www.tzone.org/~llin/psf/packs2/FF7_psf.rar - 413 Judgment Day Prot's got it. Same tempo, note-for-note. The sounds used here weren't even bad. Fairly nice sounding cover. Hope the samples weren't pirated. Might as well say "Nobuo Uematsu & some patches - Final Fantasy 7 Judgement Day". Not even worth renaming the title, I see. NO
DarkeSword Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 Can't we just override this out? I won't; I can't listen to PSFs for some reason right now, but if it's a rip just OR it.
Protricity Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 I only NO OVERRIDE for guarenteed rips. This is not a guarenteed rip. There are some parts of the song that are not in the original. Not just percussive and sfx either. Thus, its 90% likely to be a rip, but since its not 99.89% likely, I wont N.O.
Malcos Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 This sounds really nice - but won't pass because it's just too close to the original for my liking. NO
GrayLightning Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 If I were to categorize the arrangement it would definitely a conservative take of the piece. Other than the lack of arrangement this is pretty cool. One issue I have here is the lack of definition between the instruments. I can understand if you wanted to create a textural orchestra piece, but I think for this kind of piece less reverb would have served the piece better. There's a wash of reverb everywhere with no sense of depth between strings, choral lines and percussion. That needs to be worked on. Cool, but it's a No due to the arrangement issue.
