firedude750
I was wondering if it was ok to use a Remix on a video for a school project. Is it cool or are there like copyright issues?
EC2151
OCR mixes are freely made and non-profit, so there isn't any copyright issues. Plus, it's a school project, so if you're not making any money you can put some Chrono Trigger trance remix into your BritLit project. firedude750
Ok, that's what I figured I just wanted to make sure, thanks for the input! Oh and lol at that second comment.
Rozovian
There's always copyright issues unless they're explicitly waived by the owners. In this case, ocr only has control over the arrangements and recordings, not the sources. If game company x wanted to mess with everyone who used anything they owned, they could take down any remixes on here from their games. That said, game companies tend not to do that. OCR's terms of use let you use ocremixes as long as you don't make any moneys off of it, and you credit ocr&remixers for the track(s). In other words, you shouldn't have any problem using them. SenPi
Are you really asking this question. lol Do you really think there was a reason for your post? Even though op's question was answered already?
Bahamut
I'm no lawyer, but from what I remember, it can be argued that using any commercial music for educational purposes falls under fair use, so using something like an OC ReMix should fall under it as well. Eino Keskitalo
I think asking before using falls under good manners, though. --Eino
Meteo Xavier
It is good manners and we should employ a round of applause that this one had the manners to ask first. You don't see that often in this day and age. I applaud.
