duskvstweak
I just started an account last week (got my fiancee to join too). I've been wanting to play Magic for years but never had the people to play with, so I'm enjoying the online version a lot. Does anyone here play? Wanna give tips? BardicKnowledge
There are a few of us that play casually over Cockatrice -- join #vgmmtg in IRC and hit us up for games there. I know there are at least a couple that do the "real" Magic online, but don't know who all of them are...I'll let them get back to you. Palpable
I play online from time to time (same username), but I usually just draft and sell the cards immediately to recoup tickets. So I can't really play against anyone because I don't have a collection! But feel free to add me if you want to chat. As far as tips... I don't know how much you've used the client, but practice with it a lot. It takes a while to get used to. F2 (shortcut for OK) and F6 (shortcut for auto-yield until end of turn) are invaluable for playing fast enough not to lose to the clock. Also, avoid combo decks in constructed because they are a bitch to click through and everyone will make you do it.
OceansAndrew
the client is really in need of improvement, but once you learn it (which takes awhile), it's not bad. I recommend cockatrice though, as it's free, and is better for getting back into the game. We also have a mini community who occasionally plays, which is nice
Gario
I think most the info about the M:TG group is in this thread. Just in case you were interested in it.
