jmr
Hey folks! I'm excited to announced that Open Circuit is going to be hosting a listening party for Cory Johnson's upcoming album The Legend of Zelda. The album spans essentially the entire series, reinterpreting the music in an dark, epic, post-rock style. A demo version of the album was 'leaked' by Cory himself back in August 2011, but the final version of the album promises both a more polished sound and a more fleshed out track list. All the info you need is at this facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/events/163643360425096/ Hope to see you there! Originally released as a collection of unpolished demo recordings in August 2011, Cory's post-rock interpretation of the classic Zelda music took the internet by storm, garnering coverage from Destructoid, ScrewAttack, and more. On Saturday, May 12th 2012, 5PM eastern, join Open Circuit on Arecibo Radio as we celebrate the long awaited debut of the finalized version of Cory Johnson's album The Legend of Zelda. This will be the first place to hear the full album which is currently slated to include not only songs from the demo album, but also new arrangements of Gerudo Valley, Outset Island, Tal Tal Heights, and more! After the listening party, the album will be available as a free / pay what you want download hosted on Cory's bandcamp page http://coryjohnson.bandcamp.com/. Keep checking back here for more info as the release date approaches, and follow Cory's progress on the album on his website: http://cory.fm/. http://www.areciboradio.com/ http://cory.fm/ http://coryjohnson.bandcamp.com/
BlackRazgriz
Sounds exciting!!! If Ballad of the Wind Fish is in the tracklist, I would be more then willing to pay for it, even if it's free
KyleJCrb
Why would you not be at this? Seriously, there is absolutely no excuse for missing out on what will very likely be one of the highlights of the year in video game music. If there's one event every VGM fan NEEDS to attend in 2012, it's this. And no, I am not being facetious in any way, shape, or form, especially when I say that this may be one of the finest Zelda albums in existence. jnWake
Some songs from the demo are impressive. With better sound quality this will be badass.
jmr
Hey folks, some bad news. The album release and listening party has been pushed back a week to May 12 to give Cory a little extra time to polish up the release. Sounds like Explosions in The Sky did Zelda tribute album. I like.

Drakken
Woo! Just got home and purchased. Unfortunately I won't have time to listen through the album tonight, but I'll be burning it to have in the car tomorrow. Really excited to listen to this. Cory, I don't know if this is sequenced as a complete album or more of a collection of tracks, but what would you recommend as the cutoff point between discs? Just from looking at the tracklist, I'm guessing Outset Island would be a good place to end the first disc, with Majora #1 beginning the second disc. That was the split point during the listening party, so I'm pretty sure that's the official cutoff between discs.
